  Island getaway

  My husband and I stayed one night and wish we stayed longer! So much fun to take a boat and then arrive at a beautiful hotel. The room we had over looked the pool and sea which couldn't be more breathtaking. The bed was were very comfortable and staff was very friendly and spoke good English. We checked in just after 4:00pm so had enough time for an hour of sunshine by the pool. The sun sets behind the hotel so better to get in early if you want more sun. Before dinner my husband and I walked around the whole island which takes about 25 mins maybe shorter but there are so many opportunities for a photo that I made him stop quite a bit. The restaurant was good with high quality food although the pace was slow. We went for the tasting menu (70) and wine pairing (20) but there was a good 15 min wait in between each course which ends up getting tedious. I would recommend ordering your own wine and food so that you avoid wait time or go for an earlier dinner we went at 8:30. And spray your legs with bug repellent because my husband I were attacked under the table by mosquitoes. I just wish we stayed 2 nights because with the check out at 11:00 I felt it was all a bit rushed. The hotel did offer us more pool time if we wanted which was very kind. We were able to catch another hour of morning sun before we left Ile de Bendor! I look forward to returning.

  Short stay on way to friends

  We decided to break our journey to stay with friends near Cap Bernat, so booked a night stay in Hotel Le Delos. It was a wonderful decision. The staff were very helpful, the view great out of our seaview window (over the small harbour where the ferry arrives). The island itself is really easy and quick to explore. We ate in the hotels restaurant, which was brilliant and well worth doing. What you do need to do is plan how / where to leave your car in Bandol before catching the ferry over to the Ile De Bendor. As we arrived during school holidays Bandol is a busy town, so you may need to wait a little while to park. The best car park is the one right by the ferry & costs 15 euros to leave your car over night there.

I was dreamin to spend a few nights at the Delos since the 70s! I just did. We had a beautiful room right on top of the Mediterranee!! You can hear the sound of the waves. Just a drea come true. We had a very nice dinner and the food was just great. The foie gras as a starter followed by the Loup (fish) for two. It was just awesome paired with the signature red and rose wine Domaine des Ambiez. Just incredible on the terrace facing the sea. The pool is to die for. Heated and clean and very relaxing. The island is really nice and you can forget everything just looking at the sea. Plenty of places to dive and swim if you like it! Everything was just perfect and the restaurant and front desk people very nice and knowledgeable...

  Perfect!

  Perfect service, kind staff and very professional and very polite. We have been really amazed by the service! The breakfast is not perfect but is not that bad neither. We had a room in the ground floor and that was pretty nice as we enjoyed the view from a private terrace with a kind of small garden. The room was good and equipped with all needed staff! Free drinks were offered the first day in our room. We do recommend this hotel!

  Stay away

  The room it self fairly ok, but with sub standard bathrooms. The staff was generally really unpleasant, possibly due to bad management or the fact that they are full during high season anyways. Talked to the manager, and his way of acting really confirmed this. No assistance booking dinner at any restaurant, and unhelpful in many ways. The food in the restaurant was very overpriced based on the quality of food, service also very slow and they all seemed like they wanted to be an other place. We had several of the dishes, and after sorting out the fact that they took the wrong order, we all received our food that was sub par. The fish of the day was a soggy cod (that should have been warm, but was cold and disappointing). The pasta dish was standard Fusilli with supermarked pesto sprinkled on in, and the children meny was utterly without any sense of a desire to deliver something worth eating. Nice pool and views though. But I would recommend other places along the coast where they take their customers and visitors more serious.
