bad experienceMy colleague and I stayed in this hotel in September 2011. We paid 600 riyals for 2 days which is about 80 $ a night. I know it's a fair price but the hotel was really disappointing. The room I stayed was quite small and there were only two extremely small windows (I think it is about the culture of the country) which made it look more like a cell than a room. The air conditioner was too noisy. The television in the room was very old and there were only a few channels for people who do not understand Arabic. There was no wireless internet service and the only computer which provides free internet access to the guests in the lobby was ancient. The weather in Riyadh was extremely hot and the hotel did not provide enough air conditioning in general areas like lobby or restaurant. Talking about restaurants, the breakfast was included but there were not many choices in it. In general, this is a cheap but a bad hotel in my opinion.

Missing its MarksLet me start on a positive note: The staff was kind, accommodating, professional and well-meaning; nevertheless this place misses the mark. It began in the hot lobby, hot elevator and hot hallways. My room truly missed, as well. The shower towels we worn, tattered and stained. Very limited sink space. Carpet stains abound. Chairs were also very worn and aging and more. Actually, an investor/hotelier would probably find it to be a perfect opportunity to turn it into the wonderful space it has the potential to be . . .

Dirty and unpleasantI stayed in this hotel for 5 nights with two colleagues as it is near to the Al Shura parliament building where we were working. The general staff were pleasant and friendly and that is about the only positive thing I could find to say. The management were dis-interested and failed to respond to simple requests. The room was small, had disgusting long carpet that looked dirty. There was writing on the wall, dirt in evidence, stains on towels and bedding and the bathroom stank. I honestly cannot think of anything positive to say. I assume that it is intended for locals with lower living standards and would advise anybody travelling to the country who is used to European hotels to steer well clear.

A good budget hotel but take the meal options as they are superb. The room was basic but it was only a base for a week of business and it is cheap, the location is not the best but taxi's are very cheap so it's easy to get around, it's only two minutes to the city centre. Now onto the food, it was excellent, don't expect English food because you are not in England but the quality was excellent and it was as much as you wanted, every day we got at least 3 different dishes for the main meals and they were top quality, for a cheap no nonsense hotel serving good food with staff who strive to please this place is ideal.
