    Top quality

We had a room on the first floor overlooking the road at the front of the building. There is a busy road in front of the hotel but when the balcony doors were closed it was quiet. The room was spacious and modern with a good shower room. There was a TV with a couple of English channels, a fridge and a safe. this is a good quality Italian hotel and as such food served is Italian and very good. Breakfast was continental with a good selection of meats, cheeses, fruit and sweet things. There was some warm food but i did not try any. Evening meals were just fantastic with a serve yourself salad course followed by a first, second courses which was served and a desert course which again was served. There was a selection of 5 meals on each course and in 7 days never failed to enjoy any meal. Staff throughout the hotel were very friendly. There is a nice well stocked bar with good Italian beer. I did not use the pool. A good internet connection is freely available. The hotel is located on the outskirts of Stresa which is a 20 minute walk away, it is a short walk from the railway station, the ferry terminal and the cable car station. There is a bus stop outside the hotel with an hourly service in both directions. I could not find any real fault with the hotel but as a personal thing i would have liked a choice of something a little plainer for evening meals as everything was served with some sort of sauce..We enjoyed our stay so much that we are looking to book again for next year.

    Really, really disappointing

We travelled to this hotel as part of a group having first checked their website to be sure that the hotel would meet our needs. We were excited to see that the food, which is always a very important part of our holiday, looked absolutely delicious. Unfortunately that isnt what we got! The food served to our group was appalling for the entire week, burnt croissants daily, severely overcooked meat and fish and vegetables boiled, boiled and boiled again until they were unrecognisable. The bacon on the other hand was so undercooked that a good vet could have resuscitated it and soup like gruel, so thick that it could have been eaten with a fork ( not a joke!). Apart from the anti-pasti every evening meal was inedible, so we spent our holiday money eating elsewhere later each evening. The food was the worst weve ever had on holiday - dont go to this hotel as part of a group!! The hotel was clean. Take your own hairdryer as the hotel one is useless.

    Birthday treat

Picked this hotel as said family run, just outside Stresa so nice walk into town centre. You could either walk along road then join promenade or take road directly opposite hotel down to lake and walk the promenade. Ideal for us, ferry stop at bottom of road plus cable car station. The hotel itself was really nice, but the staff were absolutely lovely. Really cheerful and helpful. The food was gorgeous, it was a treat to go to dinner and check out the menu. Asked head waiter to recommend wine, we tried several over the week none overpriced considering it was hotel.

    Disappointed

We stayed here in September for two weeks. We had a lake view at the front of the hotel. We arrived on Saturday and our first day was spent walking into Stresa which is a lovely walk past several fantastic hotels. Wow. In the evening at dinner we were given a table in the main dining room. But later we were moved into the outside dining room. It was extremely cold and I had to wear a cardigan each night. Several people complained about this and eventually the hotel brought in patio heaters but this was inadequate for the number of people in the room. The problem is it is open to the elements and as it was late September and the pool was closed due to the weather we really should not have been placed outside. There were several coach parties in the hotel who had better tables than us. They were in the front of the dining room away from the draughts and not freezing cold. It did spoil our dinner. You were not allowed to close the door to the outside despite the cold. One lady bought a coat to wear to dinner !! The meals were fine but one waiter brought our main meals before we had finished our starter. It was very rushed as you dinner finished at 9. No flexibility unless you were in the coach party. Who were extremely loud and stayed in the dining room well past 9pm. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage , boiled eggs , toast, fruit and yogurt. Fruit juice. We had a leisurely breakfast unless we went on a day out. We travelled slot by train as it's very near to the station. Also the bus stop is quite near the hotel. Note. We had a front lake view room overlooking the main road. It was extremely noisy especially on a Sunday. We did use ear plugs for the whole of our holiday. We did sleep well. We did sit out each night but it is a very busy main road. The room didn't have a kettle but we took our boiler with us so we had a cuppa every morning. If you stay in suite you should get a kettle. We had a very small fridge which we used for our milk. Supermarket just as found the corner. Better ones in Stresa. We did enjoy our holiday went out somewhere different each day. We used the bus, ferries and the train. Handy for Milan and Switzerland. We planned our itinerary before we arrived. We would go back to Stresa but not this hotel.

    3 day mini break

This hotel is beautifully situated with lovely lake views from the front facing balconies.Table and chairs on the balcony are a lovely addition and enable sunset relaxation! Good sized rooms and en-suites. Close to the funicular and walking distance to Stresa town centre. The staff are very friendly and there is a good pool with plenty of sun loungers and a poolside bar. The restaurant is large and breakfasts excellent and in these Covid restrained days it is well managed and organised. No hesitation in recommending and would choose again.
