Estpendo B&BAcogedor, limpio, elegante, distinguido, familiar, cercano, ...

I hate to do that but no heat? $200. room and no heat and LOTS OF NOISEIt's an interesting beautiful building and the room had some unique architecture. However, it was in the 30's at night and there was no heat. The owner told us to get the blankets out or move to another room (after we had unpacked, not a great option). they offered FREE dinner which was nice, but after looking in the kitchen it was to scary for us to try. Found mold in our ice. Didn't have an ice bucket in our room and that took a bit of effort, we were given a large jug then a beer container and finally a plastic cup. the owner (I think. it was based on what the waitress said) could have easily helped us but he hid in the kitchen. NOW THE NOISE. if you do not like to have cars racing by in the middle of a night and sleep next to a very drafty door (there is cardboard over the EXIT sign) don't stay here. The cars are a few feet from the "door" which is next to the bed and the street. So it's easy to load luggage I guess but pretty scary and LOUD. Then there was the FLAPPING awning which we thought at first was a bird... in the morning, no one was around.. there was no "free " breakfast. Everything around this is deserted and it's kind of sad could have been nice. It's more like a $100 a night room, come on you ripped us off. NO HEAT???? PS NO COVID PRECAUTIONS NO ONE HAS A MASK ON INCLUDING THE KITCHEN STAFF

Not Really That CharmingThe first thing you have to ask is, why would you want to go to DeFuniak Springs anyway? If you are traveling on I-10, stay by the interstate. Back to Hotel DeFuniak. Thought it sounded charming you know a classic boutique hotel. Well it is sort of charming but not $165 charming. The staff was great. Make that extra great but just couldn't make up for the properties short comings. For example, the complementary breakfast doesn't start until 9:00. Way to late for travelers. Your morning coffee is down in the lobby from a Kuereg machine that didn't work. For assistance, there is no staff in the hotel early in the morning. Attached to the hotel is a pretty good restaurant, NOLA, that obviously features New Orleans food. I'd give it 4 stars. (only world class restaurants get 5-stars). The attached bar called Bourbon is also a very nice, well decorated and a comfortable spot for cocktails. So if I might summarize, there ain't nothin in DeFuniak except for Hotel DeFuniak. It's OK, but not for the money. NOLA, however, is worth the money.

Interesting architecture but room awful no heat loud street noise no masks!!The plac-e looks interesting but the area is sad. The room is kind of large but the heat didnt work and it was very cold so we were told to get the additional blankets to keep warm or move to another room not as spacious. Wouldnt u. Check this before a guest stayed or at least go to the room to fix this? Lots of street noise all night as room was on the main floor by the Main Street. Horrible noise all night from road traffic and flapping overhang noise very cold breeze through the room. We turned on the shower to heat the place up. Remote didnt work. Asked for an ice bucket for our room and were handed a large 2 gallon jug by clueless waitress finally ended up with a couple plastic cups to get ice. See photo of black mold from ice machine. The owner offered us free dinner for our troubles but I would rather lick the floor then eat anything prepared in that kitchen as I had peered In when checking in.... no masks on anyone and no COVID protection.kitchen scary. Garbage can from last guest trash left
