  Una estancia ideal

  Hotel muy acogedor con un muy buen restaurante para comidas y cenas. English breakfast muy completo y delicioso. Fuimos en familia y reservamos tres habitaciones. La nuestra era practicamente un pequeño apartamento con dos habitaciones y un baño, en una zona un poco apartada (con un niño de dos años y medio lo agradecimos) pero con rápido acceso y vistas directas a la piscina, que además estaba climatizada por lo que pudimos distrutar de unas jornadas muy relajadas y muy buen tiempo. El pueblo de Alfriston, a cinco minutos a pié, es un lugar precioso, pintoresco y acogedor. El servicio del hotel es inmejorable. Recomendadísimo.

  Very cozy and charming hotel

  We stayed here for 3 nights and we booked the cheap room at a good price, the room we got was quite small but we warmed to it after abit of time but still good value for money. The grounds are amazing and has a very warm atmosphere and the staff were amazing and friendly and very helpful, if we needed something we got it with no issues. Word of warning the food is to die for. I think we spent as much on food there as we did the room and we didnt feel bad. Every lunch/dinner was amazing especially of the market grill of the day and breakfast is also great and filling. The town is very close by and charming different from the city/busy town life Im used to

  COVID19

  Nice place but why are they allowing people from Tier 4 to stay over Xmas . I feel sorry for the staff They are all great but the management are only thinking of their own pockets and not the safety of guests or staff

  Amazing dog friendly hotel

  Stayed for 2 nights at Deans Place recently and could not have been more impressed with the experience we had. Lucinda, James and the entire team make you feel so welcome and do everything they can to make your stay one youll want to repeat. Even in these strange masked, socially distanced times you can tell how passionate the whole team are about the hotel. The food is amazing and with us both being vegetarian we were offered alternatives and adaptations to their menu. We couldnt find a fault with anything we ordered. The mushroom tagliatelle and chocolate cremeux were particularly well received with the cremeux reminding us of the classic Black Forest flavours. Obviously the hospitality industry has been massively affected by COVID so when you can book a stay you wont be disappointed with Deans Place and everything they have to offer. They also make your 4 legged friends feel like a special guest too. They see dogs as part of the family and our dog Echo got fuss from all the staff. Dont forget to order them a sausage at breakfast! We have stayed in room 26 a few times and love the views over the South Downs and River Cuckmere which never fail to disappoint whatever the weather. Go, stay, enjoy!

  delightful anniversary stay

  We late-booked this hotel after having to cancel two other locations due to Covid restrictions. We were very happy with lots about this hotel - the welcome was delightful on a wet and cold October day, sitting in the bar in front of a roaring log fire was a delight with the rain continuing to be torrential outside. The food was excellent - lots of interesting and well prepared dishes for lunch and dinner. Service throughout the hotel was also excellent - the staff team have clearly been very well selected and trained, and were all delightful. The reception staff went the extra mile in laminating our walking map sheet, highly valuable given the weather! The only slight gripes we had were - we felt that breakfast slightly let the whole offering down a little - for such a nice restaurant, providing little plastic containers of jam and marmalade, and 'industrial' bread and limited fruit juice range and quality seemed out of character. Secondly our bedroom was, as advertised, 'cosy' as far as sizing was concerned, but rather tired in terms of decorative order. The bed was comfortable. We thoroughly recommend this hotel and will visit again!
