  Awesome trip

  Amazing food and staff, cant wait to visit again soon. the outdoor pool was a great place to cool off after a hot day, and the rooms where always fresh to return to excellent after a long day in the sun. good places to eat close by too.

  Surprisingly upscale hotel in Kathu.

  I booked the de42 hotel as it was cheap and convenient for a seminar at the Prince of Songkla University. I was very surprised to find myself in a newly opened hotel with well equipped gym and roff top pool. I don't normally notice the room decor but the paintings above the bed were striking and made me take notice of the unusual rustic but functional furniture. I wish the hotel well.

  New modern hotel

  Its nice, spacious and quite.. probably grate for couples or folks that want to get away from the tourist traps, there is a great dim sum place for breakfast, its about 4 buildings over and a 7-eleven across the street and a couples doors down.

  Could have given a very good but for the cold and horrible breakfasts....

  This hotel is quite new, all the public areas appear new and our room was excellent. Had we been able to secure a lower room rate we would still be there! The room was very clean, spacious and had a silent and very effective airconditioner with exterior (balcony) with sink and medium sized refrigerator. The cleaning staff were very quick and thorough enough however when we said "not clean today thanks," they took that to mean we didn't want water, coffee or toilet rolls, these we had to ask for most days. The breakfast, free with the room was, based on quality, over-priced. Yes, free, not worth even that. First days none of the prepared food had the under-tray heaters on and of course stone cold food. Next morning after I had complained, I selected a small plate which the attendant micro-waved to luke warm, at least it wasn't stone cold. Next morning a reluctance to even micro-wave the stone cold food as the micro-wave oven appeared to be downstairs, yes, for the staff to use I presumed. This poorest of breakfasts continued for the rest of our 2 week stay and after 4 attempts to get warm, palatable food served I just gave up. So, brace yourself to get zero enjoyment from the breakfast offering and the breakfast attendant, but enjoy the comfort and facilities of the very good rooms. Has some under-cover parking for cars. Recommended for the room, buy breakfast outside.

  Very average, skip the breakfast

  The hotel is new, and the furnishings are in good condition and stylish. We booked this as we saw it was a 4 star hotel with very reasonable prices. However, the hotel is really not 4 star quality. The gym is just a couple of machines in the car park (and you can't really use it at night due to poor lighting). The cleaners didn't seem to clean your room when you went out, rather if you were not out by 10am, and said to them to come back later they didn't bother to clean at all. The breakfast (included in the room price) was really quite horrible, with limited options. The location is fine if you need to be at the University, but otherwise it is very far from anything of note. The staff were not especially friendly, and only a couple spoke English, making it hard to find out simple information.
