  Great place for an overnight stay, fantastic value and staff.

  Found the hotel on booking.com, but managed to get it cheaper at the hotel. Warm and friendly welcome from the staff, most spoke good English. Once checked in, we were given a good information booklet and most importantly your first drink is free as a welcome from the hotel! Very clean, very modern inside, the room was big,nice bathroom with excellent shower. No tea or coffee in the room, or a safe. breakfast was very good with lots of selection. The hotel has a bowling alley and pool table in the basement, there is some sort of spa facility on site but you have to book this at an extra cost, also you have free access to a swimming pool which is 4km away - this was slightly disappointing as it looked like this was on site from booking.com site. My friend and I agreed that this was our favorite hotel from our weeks tour of Europe, fantastic value, would stay again with no hesitation.

  Great hotel and great hospitality

  Summary: + clean rooms + spacious rooms + great service + good breakfast buffet - Church bell rings bell at 0730 every morning We travelled here on our winter break. Checking into the hotel is from 15:00 onwards. However, we arrived early, and where accomodated accordingly. The booklet recieved at check-in was full of information and had coupons which you could use in Monschau at different venues. In addtion, the hotel was a little further from Monschau old town than we expected (10 min by car), but in hind sight, not that bad. We where greated at the front door by one of the staff memebers. She was very friendly and helpfull. After checking in we took our bags up to the room, which was bigger than expected. After inspecting the room, we walked downstairs to recieve our welcome drinks. The lady who had checked us in, was busy with other guests. We where met by the chef, who was very attentitve and gave us our welcome drinks. We talked to him for a couple of minutes before he had to start working on the dinner service. We where then helped by Danielle who just started her shift. She was nice enough to give us some good tips on Monschau. We decided to walk to the old town, which on an ordinary day would have been a nice walk. However, because of the storm and lots of rain, the hotel-recommended route was flooded, so we had to turn back. The room as I said was spacious, very clean and the beds are comfortable. There is a little desk and two chairs to sit on and a TV. The shower has good water pressure. For the rest the hotel offers a buffet-dinner service, a bowling-ally and a sauna, which we didnt use. Its not the Hotels fault, but the neighbouring church bell rings "in the name of tradition" at 0730 every morning, waking up the whole village. For us that was not a very big problem, because we where already awake at this time, but I could imagine this might be somewhat annoying for others. Overall, the hotel is a nice venue, with very friendly staff and great service. I would definatly come back if we visit Monschau again.

  Clean and comfortable accommodation next door to Monschau

  Very clean and comfortable hotel. We took an apartment with two spacious rooms. The hotel is 5 mins drive from Monschau but other than that is a pretty isolated place. The breakfast buffet was very good as well.

  Simple but cosy

  Went here with my family of grandpa, grandma, 3 adults and a one year old. Room was spacious and clean. Maid could not clean because of our sleeping toddler, we were offered clean towels, toilet paper in front of the door and they told us to clean the other rooms more quitely because of this. Breakfast room is nice, food at breakfast and dinner buffet is simple but tasteful. Service at dinner may be slow, but staff for both bar and restaurant consisted of only three young people with only few weeks/months experience. After asking for it once, at dinner we were offered special food for the toddler each day. Bar is small but cosy, board games are available! We were offered activities by the hotel such as a hike. Hotel lies in the tiny suburb of Rohren, were there is nothing more than a church, the hotel, and a small convenience store. The beautiful center of Monchau is only 8 minutes by car, or 60 minutes walking via a beautiful route via the sawmill in the forrest, which is offered by the hotel. This is a place to visit with your family to take walks and day trips and to come home to a place with a nice homely atmosphere.

  Friends trip

  We stayed one night and we got an excellent experience! We were settled in with a nice welcome drink at our choice and they showed us their good professionalism and kindness by offering us a suite room for 3 persons after we had a trouble with the extra bed in our first room. I appreciate a lot what they did for us and I highly recommend this hotel !
