  Charming and romantic B&B in the heart of Antwerp. Couldn't have been a better, more central location for visiting the historic center. Hospitable innkeepers. Quiet and airy lodging decorated with taste. Renovated bathroom. One tip for innkeepers: written guidelines on the use of the shower and whirlpool bath. Certainly to go back!

  Hidden away Gem

  Stayed for a long weekend with friends. The hotel is superbly located behind the cathedral - it takes under 5 minutes to reach the old town square and a tram - numbers 10 and 11 run outside of the hotel, which take you to the station etc. We decided to include breakfast with our stay which was delicious - fresh strawberries and homemade cakes - meat, cheese and freshly baked bread/croissant. The rooms are luxurious, very quiet and beautifully decorated - the bathroom is through an arch and has a spa bath and shower. The huge bed was so comfortable. The view from our windows was of the beautiful courtyard garden. There was so much to do in Antwerp though that we never had enough time to sit and have a coffee there sadly. The owners are delightful - very helpful and informative - and spoke very good English. I can fully recommend this hotel for couples/adults. We hired bikes with a guide on Saturday and that was well worth doing. The shops are 5 minutes away plus bars and restaurants.

  Charming place!

  De Koning van Spanje is a lovely historic town house, just a few steps from the Cathedral, yet extremely quiet. We stayed in a spacious, beautifully furnished room (Josephine) with a view onto the garden, and a big bathroom with a whirltub. The owners were very friendly and hospitable, and made our stay even more enjoyable. We will certainly come back!

  Enjoy a beautifully restored historic house with a very private hidden garden, and the kind attentions of a pair of delightful hosts! Everything is immaculately clean, very functional, and done with exquisite taste. Outside your window is a lovely secret garden surrounded by the roofs and walls of historic Antwerp. Our room had a good desk, a nice couch, and a large bathroom in a separate room. The bed was very comfortable and a true kingsize. The wifi was strong and quick. The full breakfast includes excellent fresh fruit, outstandingly good coffee, eggs cooked to order, fresh croissants, and a variety of breads, meats, and cheese. Georgette and Karl are not only charming and welcoming, but very interesting people who offer a wealth of knowledge about Antwerp, its sights, and culture (Karl is former director of Antwerps museum of musical instruments). The house is just steps away from the historic Grote Markt and main cathedral, and many excellent restaurants, from fine dining to delightful, casual Belgian brasseries.

  What an amazing friendly and welcoming B&B in the heart of Antwerp. Hidden away in a quiet area smack in the centre of Antwerp. The owners are super friendly and inviting. The breakfast was perfect, continental and ready when you are. The rooms are spacious with fantastic bathrooms. TVs are small but I think this is a cunning way of saying get out of your room and see the city. The perfect choice for a weekend retreat. Ask for the Room named Josephine. :)
