This is not a typical airport area hotel

We booked this hotel because of its close location to the Naples airport, which we used as a departure point for a trip to Sicily. Its website says it is a 5 minute drive, and, on the map, it seems a stone's throw from the runways. But, this hotel does not offer the usual, or even basic amenities, one would expect in the U.S. from an airport-area hotel. First, costly transfers. We arrived in Naples at 10 p.m. and was to leave on a morning flight the next day. No shuttle from the hotel -- free, paid or otherwise. (I was later told there was one that runs between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. -- don't know if it's free.) So, we had to take a 25-euro taxi, and that, we were told by the Naples taxi drivers, was a deal, because the hotel is located in Casoria, not Naples, and was not covered by the flat-rate fees. Our taxi the next morning cost 22-euro. So, a significant expense to tack on to the room. Second, no elevators. Travelers from airports often have luggage. We had to carry our bags up to the third floor (second floor according to European numbering). Third, poor maintenance. The electrical outlet over the desk was broken. Fourth, odd design. The bathroom is a half step up from the floor level -- a potential hazard. The lights and air conditioning don't work unless your key card remains in a slot by the door. So, if you leave the room -- say, to get a drink from the lobby -- the a.c. shuts off. The hotel is also located in an unattractive neighborhood. Two plusses: the staff did order the taxi for us in the morning, and opened breakfast early, so we could grab something before we headed out. But, that did not offset the negatives. In sum, I would recommend finding a different hotel, if desirous of staying near the airport.

    Avoid a horrible nightmare

My wife and I stayed here because someone at the airport steered us there to be close to the airport. Never mind that one should never stay at a hotel near the airport when you're in a great European city. We were trapped in an drab building located near an industrial park. There was nowhere to go. The rooms were dank and the whole place was creepy. It soon became clear that it was some kind of an organized crime front. There was no one else in the entire hotel except for some surly looking thugs in the dining room and two attractive young girls who were doubling as chambermaids and waitresses. I asked for a menu but was told "you get what you get". First was a plate of ziti with tomato sauce and second was a plate of what seemed like horse meat with gravy. Nevertheless the whole experience was creepy and surreal. The airport concierge must get a kickback because I can't even call it a real hotel.

Be careful of the taxi transfers

After much research and reading other reviews, we decided to stay in this hotel for our first night as our flight didn't land until nearly 10pm. The hotel proved to be very good and the staff very nice and helpful. However, our first night in Italy commenced with an argument with the local taxi (from the airport taxi queue) who charged us 35 euros for a few minutes journey, less than 3.5 miles! The taxi driver didn't speak much English and just argued that we were paying a double tariff as it was after 10pm and he had to support his family! In the end we agreed to pay 30 euros but this left a bitter taste for our first 10 minutes in Naples. Whilst we understand this is not the hotel's fault, we think other visitors may wish to be aware of these extortionate transfer fees. If you have a late arrival, you may be better paying the extra for a hotel further out and getting the bus/train or paying the higher prices of the hotel nearest the airport (none are that near!)

    Avoid.

Obscure. Avoid. Bad vibes directly. No guests and really akward location where no one goes. At same time the "hotel" has not 1 but 2 restaurants. Hmm what pays the salary of all staff. One of the restaurants offers about 10 dishes wich 1 of them is gnocci ragu, delivered to table without a ragu, waitress then claims its a neapolitan version where the ragu is just a marinara (tomato sauce). Disrepectful. Ordered "birra alla spina" , it came to the table cold as it should but without sparkling, asked then nicely for a bottled beer and got warm bottled beer. I dont even bother to complain on beds/windows/loudness etc. There were no incidents with staff or so, all of them were quite ok, just beware this isnt a normal hotel.

    Pleasant stay

The hotel room was quite spacious and clean, and the price was affordable. The staff was friendly and helpful, although they dont speak much English. This hotel may be suitable for a short business trip because the location was very close to the airport.
