Short Stay: Safe Stay: Will be back. This hotel has strict Covid rules. Must ware a mask when entering the lobby and going to your room. The person at the front desk was friendly and had a warm way of greeting you. The room was very nice and very clean. We stayed one night to enjoy Island Beach State Park. We had 2 double bed that were comfortable, small fridge. The resturant was closed due to the virus, but no problem with other places along RT 37 to find food. The lobby was was nice, the room was nice. Pretty nice comfortable stay. Felt safe! I will be back.

Covid Precautions? What Covid Precautions? We chose this hotel on 7/31/20 for nearby access to Island Beach State Park and because they touted their careful Covid practices. We arrived about 9:30 pm and there were clear signs on the door saying that everyone entering had to wear a mask that covered the nose. So we entered with our masks on and stood on the indicated spot on the floor to wait to check in. I turned and there was a security guard (who must have been an off-duty cop because he displayed a shield at his waist) who said hello. I said hello back and looked at his face where he had his balaclava-type mask pulled beneath his nose. I turned the other way and there was a boy about 10 sitting in one of the chairs in the lobby reading something with no mask. I then looked to the side of the front desk and there was a man without a mask talking on his phone. A moment later, a boy about 8 or so came running out past him to the boy sitting in the chair without a mask calling out as he did, and he was then followed by a young man about 18 without a mask who went to the kids. Eventually the man stopped talking on the phone and then joined the kids/young man and they appeared to be a family/friend group. None of them even had a mask visible anywhere on their person. At no time did the security guard say anything or comment on any of this. The woman in front of us finished checking in, and we went up to the desk. The desk clerk had a NJ Devils mask on his chin barely covering his mouth and not his nose but at least he was behind a plexiglass barrier. When we finished checking in we went to the elevator and as we got there, the doors opened and 2 people came out of the very small elevator with no masks, talking and laughing and joined the family group. Unfortunately, we had no choice but to get in the elevator to get to our room. I was extremely uncomfortable and felt unsafe. The room was nothing fancy but fine. It appeared clean, but after what I had just seen, I didn't really trust it. There was a lot of talking and laughing in the parking lot outside the window. I looked out and it was the family group I had seen in the lobby with about 10 other friends/family in hanging out by two vans or large SUVs. They were a little loud, but it wasn't that late and eventually, it quieted down. I tried to use the WiFi, it didn't work with multiple tries on multiple devices. I used my phone to go on their website and try to give them feedback on what had just happened, but after typing the whole thing, the button at the bottom of the feedback button didn't work, which was annoying. In the morning as we were leaving, I saw one of the men from the family group with no mask at the front desk talking to the desk clerk (a woman this time who had her mask on properly) and as far as I could see, his lack of a mask was not a problem for her. As we went out to our car, we found the parking lot to be a mess. There were a empty food containers and garbage around just strewn on the pavement. I hadn't seen that when we arrived, so I am assuming it was the family/friend group. It's not the hotels fault that they were pigs, but I do fault the hotel for not enforcing its own rules and attempting to set some behavioral standards. So, wouldn't head back to this place if I had a choice. Clearly they don't really care about doing anything to enforce safety in the pandemic.

The front desk is of no help! Internet problems and no heart!I have asked the front desk for help multiple times with no resolve. I needed a place to study with co-workers. They would not permit the three of us to sit in the conference room that was not in use. We are staying here long-term, you think they would be more grateful! When the internet was not working, I was told that the other rooms have not complained about the internet. The front desk attendant did nothing to help. The next day, I returned to the front desk just to be given a number for tech support. Why could have they not just reset our router and handled it for us?

Decent accommodations but the area is noisy. The accommodations are as one would expect for a budget hotel. The area was excessively noisy on my stay. Had a tough time sleeping. Otherwise, acceptable. I'd give it another try if I had to stay overnight at Toms River again.
