Surprisingly good, best Shandong experienceAnother massive marble lobby, meant to impress. Nice rooms, cleaner than most, probably because it's new. No other western guests, very little English spoken, but friendly experience. Usual bad breakfast experience, they just don't understand western food, but given that there are 0 western tourists, it's not surprising

Not as International as it may lookI have stayed here a number of times for business. Each time, I am reminded that it is not the same as other Western Hotels I have been to in China. I don't know of any other places in the area where I could stay, though. So, it is either I stay there or try to visit this area as a day trip from Qingdao (1.5 hours by train). There are some tips for staying here: 1) The beds are very hard. Some do not like this. 2) The A/C is turned off at night. So, make sure to get a running start if you are there certain times of the year. 3) The morning you check out, make sure that you go downstairs and tell them your room number. Then, eat breakfast and come back to get the bill. The reason is that they check your room to make sure you have not taken anything or done any damage. This takes a while.

Best hotel in qingzhouThe best hotel in the area, the standard is good for the region. Breakfast buffe is ok with both coffee, noodles and Asian cousins. The showers doesn't always have a rich flow of hot water so prepare to shower quick. The service is so so from the staff. Stayed here around 100 days.

Return visit 6 years later; hotel has deterioratedThere hasn't been a drastic change to this hotel since my previous extensive review but what has changed has changed for the worse. While there were far more guests than my stay in 2012, including some "foreigners", the beautiful grounds have been allowed to go to weed around the premises and the tennis court looks like it has been bombed out. The air conditioner did not function since the month of May is "too early" to put freon in the HVAC system for the rooms. The meeting rooms and restaurant seemed to be cooled fine, however. I was provided, without asking, a small fan. Opening the window and using the fan made the eighty degree temps during the day bearable. The mini fridges have been removed from the rooms which removed a fire hazard but removed the convenience of cool drinks with it. There is one tiny drawer for clothing and a closet for hanging clothes. They should put drawers in the big empty space where the former fridges used to be. The wifi worked ok and the included breakfast buffet was decent. If you're attending a function here, it's hard to beat the convenience. The park is still fairly convenient but there are other hotels closer to shopping areas and still close to the park. I'll stay elsewhere for my next trip.
