Not A king bed as advertised

I wanted to like this place but it was just ok. Weird times we are living in but there are certain things that can be made better. Check in was fine. This is a remote resort, much of the amenities were closed including the hot springs. One pool was open, cold and pretty buggy. The room, while mostly updated the bathroom was dated with a jacuzzi tub which I attempted to turn on and had to call maintenance, they came quickly. There was a tripped breaker. Ok, well the tub was full of black debris from the air lines and even after 5 washes I could not get it out so we did not use the tub. They need to regularly clean those tubs out. The deadbolt also did not work either which was a tad concerning. The other issue is the room is labeled as a King And it is clearly not. We found the label on the mattress. When we brought it up to the front desk they were condescending and insisted it was a King. You can tell from my picture it isnt a king. The restaurant on campus was struggling as well, one person doing 3 jobs.

    Road trip

Spent 2 nights here. The resort is very clean and the staff are pleasant. There is a paved trail from the resort to Genoa which is a ice walk. We had a small room which had a small fridge, toasted and coffee maker along with a sink and tv, we also had a small balcony with was nice.

    Short Getaway

My boyfriend and I were offered to stay at his Dads timeshare for a few days, his dad could not stay the entire week. So we stayed 3 nights/4 days. It was just a nice get away during these crazy Covid times. It was quiet there the few days we there, but Sunday when we left it was much busier. You do need a parking pass, so just visit the front desk upon arrival, there is plenty of parking. We had a large 2 bedroom place. Each bedroom had their own bathroom, TV etc. The main living area is large, couch, 2 chairs, dining table with 4 chairs and a gas fireplace. There are also 3 bar stools at the counter-top in the kitchen. There is a small patio with 2 chairs off the living area that is open and not fenced in, it's just open. The 2nd bedroom has a small patio also and a kitchenette. There is also AC. The main kitchen as all the essentials that were needed. The small kitchenette in the 2nd room had a small fridge, sink, coffee, maker, microwave, dishes and silverware. The place was very well cleaned when we arrived as they cleaned it after my boyfriends dad left. It was spotless. We asked for 2 bags of ice and we got right away as there was no ice machine, and the front desk even called to see if the ice had arrived. We bought all our own food and cooked all meals except one. We went to the restaurant on site, masks are required, but it was very quiet I think because of Covid and people not going out as much. There is a general market on site incase you forget anything basic, otherwise you can go into town to get anything you may need. Genoa is a small cute little town to check out while your there, general store, a bar and a few restaurants. There is a golf course close by for you golfers. We did go to the pool the days were were there, the one with regular water, there was hardly anybody there. The other pool is mineral water and more people at that one, so we didn't go to that one. They have BBQ pits on site for BBQing and patio table and chairs to eat at if you which. The spa, mineral baths, hottubs are all closed because of Covid, just the swimming pools were open. We found the desk staff to be very nice and attentive. You do need to empty your own garbage at the end and through away in the big dumpsters that are located around the grounds which is no big deal. Each room had lots of dresser/ closet space for all your needs. I would definitely stay here again, a little hidden gem.

    Tranquility and Relaxation

We visited two years ago before Holiday Inn took over and loved our week so much we bought a timeshare. The grounds are stunningly beautiful and the surrounding mountains are gorgeous. The pools and hot spring pools were so nice, and we loved walking to Genoa on the paved path every morning. Lake Tahoe is just over the hill and provides all the recreation one could desire. Holiday Inn took over the resort before we were able to visit again. We returned this year for our week and loved the Dillon Building unit we purchased. The grounds and pools were immaculate as we remembered. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 the spa and hot spring pools were closed. We enjoyed the pools that were open, and the restaurant. We have two dogs that we like to bring along and were relieved that Holiday Inn still allowed that, though feel that $20.00 per day for each dog is way too expensive. We don't mind paying a refundable deposit but don't consider the resort to be pet friendly when it adds such an expense to the vacation. Our dogs do no damage, and I bet most kids do! We hope to bring our teenage granddaughters along next time, as there seems to be plenty to keep them occupied.

    No Hot Springs access

Arrived today to checkin and were told we had no access to hot springs or pool until our official checkin time of 4:00 p.m. Oh, by the way, the hot springs are closed since JUNE 2020. I had made the reservation on August 20, 2020, paid +$200/nite, and was not advised of the hot springs and spa closure (Covid-19 precautions by Governor). After complaining, front desk staff "made an exception" and allowed us to use only open pool on site, until our check in (4 hrs.). Rough start, but we just were called at 1:30 p.m. to access our room. Good deal, hope our stay continues to get better... Overall stay was fine, room was new with new carpet and furniture plus smells associated with the newness. A nice room, and food was good from resort bar/restaurant. I did not find value of nightly rate equal to resort prices since main amenities were closed, restricted access, etc. No ice machines operating either. Kind of a let down overall, therefore our low rating.
