  un hotel en un enclave de sueño

  He estado con un grupo en este hotel los día 28 de junio a 1 de julio, y es muy recomendable por varios motivos. Lo principal es el enclave, en un lago maravilloso, las habitaciones tienen una vista al lago espectacular, la terraza preciosa llena de flores. Las instalaciones del hotel magníficas tiene un embarcadero y acceso directo al lago para poder bañarte. El desayuno es magnífico y muy variado, continuamente están reponiendo todo tipo de bollería y panes, frutas, también tiene salado, huevos, salchichas, mermeladas. El personal del hotel no puede ser ya más atento. Las habitaciones son amplias y silenciosas. Lo recomiendo sin duda, para pasar unos días relajantes pero también hay posibilidad de realizar excursiones a otros lagos y visitar Halfstat y Salzburgo.

  Excellent Christmas 2018.

  My Austrian partner and I took a short inclusive break here for Christmas. For complete relaxation we travelled by train and were met at the station. We found the hotel friendly and welcoming. We had a ground floor room which was spacious and comfortable though of course the direct access to the lake is of little purpose in December! There is some bizarre architecture and the bathroom and WC is divided from the rest of the bedroom by a large picture window. However we are clearly not the only guests who like privacy in the loo and a curtain is thoughtfully provided! The jewel in the crown here is the restaurant. I do not always enjoy Austrian gourmet cooking which often seems to depend heavily on monosodium glutamate and Metro specials. But not here everything is built up from fresh basic ingredients; the food is freshly prepared, beautifully presented, professionally served and perfectly cooked. It is largely cooked to order and therefore unrushed. The main restaurant is modern, light and airy and may be a little stark for those who want old-fashioned gemütlich, but tables are well spaced, and a sensible policy for reservations and scheduling of diners ensures comfort and adequate staffing. For those who want cosy there is an adjacent Stube where delicious home-made snacks are served to half board guests over Christmas. The bar area is less satisfactory, dominated by high stools, and a bizarre arrangement where if you sit with an aperitif the hard working and very professional staff is constantly dashing past you. There are renovations planned and one hopes this idea of the bar in a corridor will somehow be addressed. The staff is very good without exception. They maintain an excellent balance of friendliness and professionalism. They work well as a team and there seems to be no weak link. Of course we do not see the work of the kitchen so much but judging from the results it must be exceptional. On Christmas Eve we were invited to take a drink with the management and staff and to participate in readings and carols. I have experienced many hotels in Austria over Christmas and this was far and away my best experience. This extra effort characterised the approach of the hotel management. On Christmas Eve after the pre-dinner party, and the excellent meal, the staff finally close the bar and public areas to spend a few hours with their family or friends. This does mean that there is no service after about 10.30 though there is complimentary Punsch and Christmas biscuits in the lobby. We did not find this unreasonable and did not begrudge this excellent staff a short private time before, bright and early, they were back to prepare a fabulous breakfast on Christmas Day. Breakfast was equally good on each day of our stay, with a spectacular buffet and egg dishes cooked to order. There was also a splendid fresh fruit counter. My favourite fruit the mango was at peak ripeness every day. How do they do that!? In conclusion and overall an excellent hotel experience.

  Perfect lakeside hotel

  My husband and I stayed at the Seehotel das Traunsee for one night this past August. The location of the hotel is simply magical, directly adjacent to the Traunsee at the edge of the superbly picturesque hamlet of Traunkirchen. Our room had the loveliest balcony overlooking the lake and the nearby mountains. The staff was attentive and professional. I strongly recommend booking dinner at the hotel; the food is exquisite and the setting is superb.

  Great hotel for swimming in the Traunsee lake

  Good points - location location location - fantastic views - very comfortable bed - great food - some free parking (not guaranteed) - direct access to the lake - beach towels and dressing gowns provided by the hotel. - private lakeside "deck" area with bar service - lake is good to swim in in summer..(beware parts of the lake can be warm, and other areas very cold.) - I saw people with kayaks and various water craft. - small sauna and steam room are nice. Sauna with lake view. The 3 showers in the spa are nice - complimentary tea and fruit in the spa area. - small relaxing room overlooking the lake with complimentary tea and dried fruits. - generally helpful and friendly staff - restaurant and bar reserved for hotel guests only most of the time. - rucksack for walking and umbrella provided. - after swimming in the lake, my health felt better. Suspect the lake has some sort of special mineral mix. Issues experienced that one should not in a **** hotel. - one guest was fishing in the hotel beach area at the exit of the sauna where people go skinny diping after the sauna. This kind of behaviour in a 4* hotel is hardly acceptable. - no complimentary water in room - no wifi signal in room (booking.com says there is in whole hotel) -no heating..not even the towel rail in the bathroom is heated. This causes the room to be somewhat damp. (Ok, it was august) - no minibar price list (supposed to be on room tablet, but was not) - noise from restaurant can be heard in the room (not a problem in cold weather) - minisuite number 1 can be seen from the restaurant. Lacks privacy. - minisuite was mini. - Bathroom is tiny. Toilet was horrible. If not fixed, some points would risk putting the 4 star into question as per EU rating system. Conclusion Despite the above, overall it was a 5 star experience. The staff where lovel and treated us really well. It was nice that the hotel was exclusive and outside guests are generally not allowed in the restaurant or bar, except during specific times. Would i stay again..Yes, definately. If you love alpine lakes, Das Traunsee should be on your bucket list.

  Gorgeous resort hotel on the waterfront.

  This hotel was beautiful! It was situated on the waterfront and had lovely pier with bathing facilities. The management were superb - very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The restaurant overlooked the beautiful lake scenery, and offered spectacular food. The resort also had a spa facilty for pampering yourself. I'd go back in a heartbeat! :)
