Lovely location - Tired, dated hotelLocation of Hotel was pleasant enough. Rooms were comfortable, but dated. Biggest letdown for us was the food. Continental breakfast OK, but so called hot food wasn't! The evening meals were 'unusual' to say the least. We only had the choice of two options, one of which was vegetarian. The portions were very small, and feeling hungry at bedtime is not the best end to the day. (Luckily there is a Spar shop nearby)! However, local wine, soft drinks and tea/coffee were free in the evenings. Nice touch was the Swimming pool and spa which were available for residents use. Would suggest fire regulations on back of bedroom doors should be written in more languages than German. We were on a coach holiday and our brilliant drivers more than made up for the hotel shortcomings with our daily trips out.

Amazing stay and a fabulous hotel! The best hotel I have ever stayed at. Delicious food and amazing rooms with stunning views. Very kind staff and spoke very good English. The swimming pool was very nice, my sister and I enjoyed it very much. I would definitely recommend this hotel. There is also a spar, a convenience store across the road and lots of things to do, you're never going to be bored!

Amazing- no criticism!!Absolutely stunning location and amazing food every night. Lovely entertainment like the Schuhplattler, that brings back the traditions. Has a swimming pool that I went in every day, it was really lovely. There is a sauna too. There is a cafe, and rooms with balconies offer a breathtaking view of Tyrol. The bathrooms are clean and a reasonable size and the rooms have comfy beds and are very well presented. Lovely staff who speak good English and are willing to help you with any problems. A spar is located over the road and there are buses that go to Lake Thiersee, Kufstein and other local places. Also, the wifi is very good depending on where your room is located. Especially good in the cafe area, in the sister hotel.

lovely settingWe stayed at this hotel in august 2018 The hotel itself has lovely views in a wonderful location. The rooms are clean and large with hair dryers but no tea or coffee making facilities. The staff are polite and helpful. The only thing that let this hotel down is the terrible food We went on an All inclusive coach holiday but all inclusive it was not.For the first 3 days our packed lunch consisted of ONE APPLE ONE DRIED UP ROLL WITH NO BUTTER ON AND THE CHEAPEST HAM YOU COULD POSSIBLY GET ALONG WITH A SMALL CARTON OF JUICE.There was no choice of evening meal.you either had a vegetarian meal or a meat meal.If you did not like either too bad.I don't eat much which was as well as the portions were very small. On one evening the desert consisted of a small dish of cold set custard and a ten pence piece size blob of cream on top.Breakfasts were continental but if you expect croissants you wont get any.Our drinks package did not start until 6pm and finished at 10pm which we were aware of but on our first night I asked for a diet coke but was told I could have a regular coke but if I wanted a diet coke I would have to pay for it.Apart from the terrible packed lunches there were no other snacks during the day.To us this is not an All inclusive deal.Luckily there is a Spar shop next door to the hotel which was very popular with our fellow quests.Overal Apart from the drinks package and due to the quantity of guests staying at the Thaler that they fed us for around a £1 per day.I do not know were the quests stayed who said the food was great and plentiful but it was not at the Thaler. This is the first time during all my years reviewing on Trip advisor that I have ever had to write such a negative report.

A pleasant visitWe have just returned from a visit to the Tyrol staying for six days at the Thaler hotel in Hinterthiersee as part of a coach holiday. We were slightly uneasy at the choice of hotel in view of some comments by previous guests but were quickly reassured by our experiences there. The standard double room in the main block was larger than expected, with comfortable beds, a sofa and two easy chairs as well as a balcony with seating. There were plenty of electrical points, a safe and bathroom with a larger than usual shower, though no bath. Plenty of hot water was available and cleanliness was not a problem, though it would be best to bring your own toiletries as only one small bar of soap was provided. Food which had previously provoked a number of adverse reviews was simple but well cooked and perfectly acceptable in flavour and quantity with two options, one vegetarian, available each day. Free wine, beer or soft drinks were on offer from 6 - 10 pm. A menu, now provided in English, required a choice for the evening to be made at breakfast, but this routine was quickly accepted by most guests. Breakfast was the standard continental one of breads and excellent rolls, cheese and meats, fresh fruit salad and yoghurt, plus scrambled or boiled eggs. Coffee was better than we expected and various teas were provided. As there were several coach parties staying and leaving at the same time, breakfast could be busy but we never experienced shortages. One annoyance was that as a coach party we were placed in a dining room some way distant from the breakfast buffet so there was a trek to collect food. Packed lunches were barely adequate, however, consisting of one slightly stale filled roll, an apple and a carton of drink. A visit to the nearby Spar shop helped here. Not all staff spoke English, but the receptionists and both our waiters did so there were no problems here. The wi-fi reception (only available in public areas) was uneven and weak - not something acceptable today and should be addressed by the management. Overall we were most comfortable, feeling that many of the concerns of previous guests had been resolved and for class of hotel the Thaler should be commended for the service it offers
