Simply fantasticHave just returned from an incredible week-long stay at the Neuhaus and had to leave a review. This was our second visit to Saalbach but our first time at this hotel (previously we stayed at a very well-reviewed 'sport and spa' hotel about 10 mins walk away which was fairly disappointing) so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. However it's fair to say that I was impressed by almost every aspect of this hotel, from the location to the room to the food to the housekeeping to the reception staff to the spa and boot room. Nothing was too much trouble during our stay and the attention to detail was superb. We had a junior suite deluxe which was beautiful - the perfect mix of traditional wood style but with a cool and modern feel. The shower was powerful and always super hot, and the bathroom was large with plenty of storage and always spotlessly cleaned. The beds were comfy and we ordered additional pillows from the 'pillow menu' - these contained wheat and felt odd to begin with but were actually fantastic to sleep on. We were seated in the dining area at the back for the duration of our stay and this seemed to be the nicest part of the restaurant (some parts seemed a bit more tired and less atmospheric). I suspect this area is reserved for those staying in suites, but I may be wrong. Our waiter, Aziz, was an absolute superstar and treated us so well throughout our stay. The food itself was much better than expected. Having read previous reviews, we had expected we would want to eat elsewhere for a few evenings - however when we actually arrived, the food was on the whole excellent, particularly the fish options, and we didn't dine anywhere else. It was nice to see to much fresh fruit and vegetables, which certainly hasn't been the case in other Alpine hotels we've visited. It was also good to see proper pepper mills on the table! The spa area was quite small but lovely, and the 'oasis of silence' was wonderful and relaxing. Other highlights were the housekeeping which was insanely efficient (even on days where we returned really early, the room was clean and ready - and a turndown service was offered every evening too); the reception staff who were always extremely helpful, including arranging packed lunch on our departure to take with us on our journey; the boot room with heated lockers, which was the best I've ever used; and the meat fondue (for an extra 15pp) which was delicious and really fun. The best thing about this hotel though is without a doubt the location. You are moments from several lifts, bars, shops, ski schools/hire/servicing - everything you could need really. If I'm being really fussy, there are a few small areas the hotel could improve on: the reception area is a bit dated with weird ornaments and statues (including a creepy life-sized jester as you come in!) and it doesn't do the hotel justice as far as first impressions go. The bar area, just off the reception, was also a bit depressing and lacked ambience. The central location does mean that there is some noise from neighbouring bars etc, but also the soundproofing within the hotel itself wasn't excellent (you could hear music from downstairs and coughing and TV from the next room). But these are all pretty minor and didn't spoil our enjoyment given how happy we were with all other aspects of the hotel. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can!

Fantastic luxury hotel. Great location & food. Staff went above and beyond.Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for 1 week end of Feb 2020 we wanted a hotel close to ski lifts and it was in the perfect location for 2 of the main lifts in saalbach. I emailed beforehand to ask for a room with a balcony and the hotel made this happen. I also emailed about information about airport transfers and ski lessons for myself and they told me exactly where to book and who to email. So helpful even before we for there. Airport transfer--holiday shuttle 94 there and 94 back for x2 people. Transfer time 1hr 30mins. Takes a bit longer on a sat cause of traffic. Picks you up directly from hotel on way back. Well cheaper than any private transfers I looked up. Ski lessons--furstauer ski school I booked 3 days 10:00-15:30 beginner lessons. Booked this through skibro online and then when you get there go to furstauer shop on main street to collect ticket and then they meet up at halfway point of one of the slopes to assess how good you are and put you in an appropriate group. I moved groups after day one. All instructers spoke English and were super friendly. 1hr lunch where my boyfriend came to meet me at whichever alm we stopped at for lunch. The spa was amazing at the hotel only complaint was that children were allowed in and they ruined the chilled atmosphere. There were lots of children because it was dutch half term which we didn't consider before booking. The superior room we got upgraded to was super modern with a balcony and wet room shower. The hairdryer was one of those you have to press down on constantly so I would advice girls to bring your own hairdryer. The hotel has a boot room with lockers for your boots and skis which open with your room card which is very handy and organised. First lifts open at 8:30 and yiu can buy lift passes from the front desk at hotel. The restaurant food is amazing 5 courses every night different food every night all included . We thought we would eat out at least one night but we didn't because the food in hotel was so good. The breakfast was buffet style and fresh omlettes made for you. The hotel also put on after ski snacks at 3pm. Drinks not included but a bottle of wine is around 35 this just gets added to your room and you pay at check out. The night life is good all in walking distance. Apre ski bars and normal bars and nightclubs if you can stay awake long enough. Hope this helps

Enjoyable stayOur annual guys ski trip took us to the Hotel Neuhaus. On arrival the reception were excellent and our arrival quick and straight to dinner. Food through-out our stay was tasty and as much as possible, Austrian in style. Could have done with a house wine option - the suggested options seemed expensive. The international restaurant team were helpful and provided a friendly, efficient service. The rooms were well presented, not huge but adequate for our stay. Everything was immaculately clean - obviously a strong point in this difficult time. A touch warm in all the rooms, but a better option than cold. Ski storage was excellent and access to the slopes only minutes away. The Spa is well equipped and again kept immaculately clean . Excellent option after a hard day of skiing. Overall the hotel gave the feeling of being well run and very customer focused. Our only negative was that the strength of the Wi-fi was poor in the bar area and rooms - only important for us as we were trying to track the ever changing international travel situation.

Fabulous hotel, great locationReally lovely hotel right in the heart of Saalbach. Rooms recently refurbed with comfy beds and nice bathroom. Wellness area also has very good facilities, with the pool, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, variety of saunas and steam rooms. Very friendly reception staff and staff in restaurant and bar. Wine list is excellent, and breakfast and dinner very good quality. Excellent choice at the breakfast buffet and evening salad buffets. Local cheeses to finish off the evening meal also very good. Occasional lack of topping up items on the buffet allowing them to run out well before service finished, but that was the only thing that was of slight disappointment. All in all a top quality hotel and would definitely return.
