  Good, classic small town hotel

  This is a nice, family hotel, that has probably a long history looking at the old part of the building. Nevertheless, it has been constantly updated and everything is new and very comfortable. Overall, it gives you the typical German countryside atmosphere. The only thing I do not like are the traditional pillows. After hundreds of nights spent in Germany I have not yet found the proper way to use them. Good breakfast and an above average restaurant, open even on Monday evenings, which makes it an excellent place to stay and eat on such nights.

  Excellent place to stay

  In short, I will stay here every time I am back in town. Room was very nice: the bed was great, really clean and although I am not an artsy person, it was very comfortable. The staff was very helpful and always tried to do far more than expected. For example, I had a 520a train out and the person at the desk offered to get the cook to prepare me something for the morning even though nothing was open yet. Ive travel in lots of countries and rarely review. Das Goldene Lamm was exceptional enough to have me spend the time. Thank you for an excellent stay!

  Perfect location and lots of heritage

  From my uncle I knew this hotel was a winner as he explained it was always the favourite place for Zeiss officials and visitors to stay. There is plenty of Hotel parking. The hotel is right next to a small rivulet and is sprawled over 3 levels. Check in was very fast and friendly. I got a corner room in the second floor 208. My room is very clean and feels it has had a makeover recently. LCD TV, Mini bar and bathroom are great. Wifi is included and works throughout the entire hotel. There are 3 dining options, romantic candle lid dinner, the old pub both on the first floor and a great outside area along the small rivulet. The price value for this hotel is outstanding. The great restaurant waiter explained that the hotel evolved over many years and hence you can find sections which are quite old and others which are quite modern.

  Its a Gem.

  Typical of hotels in this region, hotel and restaurant fused to one. But this is above average. Nice, comfortable facility. Good food options. Great breakfast spread. Rooms as you would hope, quiet, comfortable. I will repeat here.

  A cozy hotel with a very good restaurant

  The hotel is quite small with a long history. An elevator is an old style and quite slow. The room has no air-conditioning, thus may be a problem in summertime . The room is clean and comfortable. There is a small creek in front of the hotel. So I can hear the sound of the water flow during the night and it felt so good. Another best part is a restaurant. The food is so good and very well prepared. I enjoyed dinner here very much.
