  Superb

  The idea of staying here is to fully relax and leave in better balance with yourself and probably nature. Can't argue with that. After 3 days we are very relaxed! The family welcome, in fact the regular staff welcome is very good. Yes, the welcome talk was in German, and there're few English speaking guests (I think we are alone currently) but all of the staff speak English, and the daily bulletins and menus will be brought to you in English, certainly if you ask, and probably if you don't. Meals are amazing. Five or six courses for dinner, every one full of taste and exceptional. I love meals where you want to eat slowly and savour, and each plate comes will a lovely bunch of flavours. Austrian wines and beers are excellent accompaniment. Spa facilities are excellent. Pool, relaxation rooms, whirlpool, three saunas, and many treatments available. The hotel IS up a hill, but the guests show that it is worth the trip. And frankly it is just a 10 to 15 minute walk to the town, the lake, the trains elsewhere. In three days we have driven around the lake and up the tower opposite, been up three chairlifts and driven some wonderful high roads (nochalmer strasser is beautiful), taken a train to the end of the lake and walked 8 miles back through the woods, had a beer and strudel in town and walked the people go by. And then back to read a book for a while before the daily thunderstorm which clears the air, and then another great dinner served by friendly staff, who will ask if you want the next course brought, or to wait a while. This is not a big anonymous lakeside hotel, but it sure is good and friendly. Overall, we are grateful to our hosts. This is the perfect chill out.

  Romantic, in nature, deliciuous food

  The location is on hill - so you will have to walk for 10 minutes to get to the lake. But you have free bikes too. It is worth - rooms nice, nothing special, with balcony, superb sauna and relaxing room, faboulous restaurant!

  Very nice stay

  We went to the hotel after the renovation and were invited by Wörthersee Tourism. The hotel is very nice, relaxing SPA area, very good food, professional staff and a very good location above of Wörthersee!

  Definitely not 4 star superior

  We spent a week in the Balance Hotel during the summer and were very disappointed. 1) The Parksuite was an outdated room facing towards the highway. No air-condition and too noisy to have the windows open. Tiny bathroom and not very appealing. 2) The food selection at breakfast and dinner was very limited. Also, if you do not finish your dinner by 9pm, for every 10 minutes after 9pm, one course gets taken away. We were not aware of that but were informed by the waitress five minutes after 9pm that we won't receive the second course, even though it was the staff's slowness that was responsible that we hadn't finish our course. 3) The staff in the restaurant, except the head waiter, is not very friendly. They are very slow, don't check if there is anything you need and are mainly focused on cleaning the buffet and tables so they can go home soon. It was not a very relaxing environment. 4) The gym is tiny, hardly any equipment. The price is significantly too high for what is being offered.

  Worst experience ever

  Lets start with the communication i booked myself via e mail and asked for 2 nights,the answer came there is availability but we should eventually change rooms. Beforehand i send all my details to them with the explicit demand not to charge me before i approve and confirm.Next day we arrived to the Hotel witch is NOT CLOSE TO THE LAKE but to the highway which is not nice specially when the room has no Air Condition???? The pool has nothing to do with the pictures on net ,the area when we arrived had not one free space and the pool was crowded like in community pools. Up on arrival before checking in i stated we will stay just one night but they already started to claim i had to pay for both nights. Just for your understanding they charge there per person /per night(the no ac double room with highway noise 125 per person) Before dinner which we had there i claimed again that i never confirmed two nights and the second rude receptionist asked me to arrange this in the morning. In the morning when we checked out again they claimed i had to pay for two nights which i refused explaining my point,showing her my e mail but it did not help a lot.I asked to call the owners and after a 5 min argue on the phone i gave up and agreed to pay 30% of a blackmail i never experienced before for the second not confirmed and consumed night. The best was when they stated they do not take Amex and Diners cc ????? and the the terrible receptionist trying to take 800 from the card instead of 520what this amusing night with dinner costed.At one moment she started to shout at me that it was not my name on the CC which i was giving her,no way to explain it is a company CC.
