Fabulous Food, Great LocationFirst time we've returned to Austria since we visited Kitzbuhel around 10 years previous. During that time, kids have appeared, so we have to cater for those guys now also like many! Wife picked this hotel and location and i've got to say, she did bloody well! Booked with Crystal and flew out March 7th. Landed in Innsbruck and whilst it was our first time there, it was a little chaotic. The young reps at the airport weren't exactly helpful after a long day, standing there, however were pleasant enough when you engaged with them to find out where you had to go. Having to walk a decent distance to collect ski carriage was a ballache as it was dumped outside some distance away, but a small chore. We then sat on the coach waiting for an hour whilst another flight landed to fill the coach. This was frustrating. On arrival at the hotel, this is when the quality shone through, and JJ the rep for Crystal was a cut above compared to others, be it summer / winter holidays - he was a top bloke personally but KNEW his stuff and was a professional. He engaged with he kids, took the frustration away and highlighted some issues with our booking (lift pass for the eldest not booked for e.g.) He also highlighted that he'd noted a party member had no ski bookings sorted so knew it was a walker / additional. Because of his organisation and personal approach, he'd sorted it all in preparation, no strings attached BUT was ready for us wanting it. This was followed up by the hotel with roast beef and other foods that was top drawer on ARRIVAL and LATE! Never had this experience before and we've been 5* previous. Kids lapped it up and we got all sorted. This remained throughout, Roast Duck, Pizzas - in a whole week, kids never touched fries (chips) but not one complaint was received. Can't fault the food whatsoever! Alex and the guys - staff members; Alex had a great dry sense of humour, i loved it. Had a beer ready for me every day i walked through the door and it became personal. The downside for this guy, like the others was this virus. Poor guy and his family was stuck, yet he was still a personable guy and a great credit to the hotel! Ski hire shop downstairs also, whilst i don't know the guys names were also great and really personable too...it made for a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable holiday which included the Skischule Scheffau. Really lovely lady who just wanted the kids to enjoy themselves. Conditions were great up top, free bus was on time, everytime as would be expected. Only downside to this holiday was a hairdryer blowing up and burning the Mrs' arm / sleeve which we received an apology for immediately. Will we be back, without a doubt. I sincerely hope the staff and associates are too!

Lovely quiet locationReally enjoyed our stay in Das hotel Alpin, Scheffau, we were in the annex, the room was small but fine. The food was buffet for breakfast and dinner, and was excellent, a great selection, something for everyone. We would definitely go back there, it was quiet and peaceful, perfect for two over seventies.

A hotel where staff put in that extra effortStayed there just before Austria closed their borders due to Covid-19. Got the last day of the ski season (closed early) but had to leave the hotel a day early because the Austrian government closed all hotels and restricted travel. The staff were super friendly and the management were brilliant and went out of their way to help us. Also, great food, rooms, and amenities, and close to shops and bus stop. Skiing in Scheffau was great. A beautiful little village.
