  Darbat Hotel--no recommendation

  Booked for one night only i forgot to collect my passport and the receptionist didn't give me my passport when I checked out. i came back to Darbat hotel the day of my departure 3 days after as I realised that I have no passport to travel. They requested me to pay for 4 nights, threatening me by police. Amazingly, I discovered that they didn't ask me to pay on check out--i was thinking I paid by credit card when I booked. I paid for one night-but they requested for 4 nights--I waste 1 hour to collect my passport and refusing to pay for the nights I haven't spent in the hotel. I don't recommend Darbat hotel

  Darbat Hotel - Dear Travelers DO NOT STAY HERE

  We visited September 2016 to Salalah. We unfortunately booked this Hotel. This is a registered 2 star hotel (Which I don't think they deserve even). The first impression itself was bad. As we got into lobby we could smell stinking smell there itself. Even after doing online booking and confirming before reaching there, to our surprise our rooms were not ready. We had to wait around 2 hours to get it ready. I would to share the drawbacks of this hotel in below mentioned points - 1. The entire hotel stinks, there is no circulation of fresh air. closed from all sides. 2. The rooms are not maintained well. Lots of patch work, old broken furniture, broken ceiling and walls. rusted bathroom fixtures, Out dated aged AC units (makes hell lot of noise), non working TVs, No amenities at all (not even a power outlet to charge mobiles), faulty lighting.....ufffffff.....the list is endless. 3. The wifi does not work in the room, you will have to stand in lift lobby to get good signal. 4.The TV does not work in the room, if it works it only has Arabic channels. In nutshell, I would never stay in this hotel again and I recommend to all travelers DO NOT STAY in this hotel.

  Value for Money

  1. Location was perfect. 2. Indian / Pakistani Food available very near by to hotel. 3. Hotel staff is helpful in guidance for local tour. 4. They provide Tourist Map of Salalah and explain it very nicely.

  Very good value centrally located hotel, fantastic!!

  I stayed twice at the Darbat hotel and can thoroughly recommend it. The hotel is located conveniently in central Salalah within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants / take away, just a short taxi ride from the airport, far better than some Salalah hotels which can be up to 20km away. The rooms are spacious and clean, with en suite facilities, free fast reliable internet etc..., I found the staff really great and always eager to help. It's a pleasure staying at the Darbat, it's great value and I will certainly stay here again when in Salalah.

  Well..I was travelling alone and I wasn't expecting to stay in the hotel for a long time...only for sleeping and having a rest of 1 or 2 hours between my day and night hangouts...I've chosen this hotel as the cheapest acceptable option in the downtown...It's a 2 star hotel which cost me 25$/night so I wasn't expecting much...the most important that the room was very clean, it includes a small fridge, a large closet, very comfortable bed, a TV set (which I didn't have the time to switch on), clean bathroom with a bathtub...The staff is very friendly and helpful, wake up and external laundry services are available, there's car parking space outside of the hotel. You can have food to your room from a Turkish restaurant just very near to the hotel...
