  Better than a tent

  We stayed here on either end of a hiking trip staying at a rifugio in between stays. I had already refused to sleep in a tent any more days so it was a nice compromise. They had older (1970s?) campers permanently parked which acted like rooms to rent. Small, basic, but in this situation it was all that was needed. Staff was very friendly, able to accommodate us without a reservation. Campers were clean, towels/shampoo were provided. No Air conditioning or fan which would have been helpful since I was uncomfortable through the night. Shared bathroom/shower facilities. Also had an area for washing clothes. Small village about 6-7km away where you can get groceries, etc. We did not eat at restaurant or use the (indoor) pool but both looked inviting. Price was good. Would stay again

  A taste of Italy

  An excellent place to relax and enjoy the mountain atmosphere. If you like hiking, nature, relaxing, excellent Italian cuisine, peace and quite then this is the place for you. Make sure that you try the restaurant hidden away behind the Spa for a taste of real Italian home cooking, just like Mama makes!

  Aosta magnifico

  When driving from the mt blanc tunnel south into Italy the Aosta valley is a fantastic place to spend a few days and the dalai lama camp/ hotel is well worth the harrowing drive up into the clouds. We stayed for 3days in our motorhome and enjoyed the beautiful location the main building is a great piece of architecture built like a Tibetan village using local timber perched high on a mountain . The evening meal was fantastic and the selection of local wine including the Valle del Aosta red. Great experience and would go back tomorrow if we could

  Very close to heaven

  We camped here in our campervan at the very end of the season so had the place to ourselves. Basically the only thing you really need to know is the view is absolutely spectacular. Perhaps the best I have ever seen - but we were there in great weather Other details BUT this all applies to the fact we were there when it was empty! 1) great loos/showers (I imagine awful in high season - only 6 showers for a massive site) 2) Dog friendly (but loads of wild cats that sent our doglets wild!) 3) AMAZING walking routes right out of the campsite 4) wifi 5) bar/restaurant looked lovely but was of course shut 6) Expensive - 34 euro for one night of camping - the most we spent on our whole trip and only worth it when everything is open - and no doubt very very busy SO for me this was highlight of our trip - but only as we went out of season and take a water spray to deal with the cats

  Bella Vista

  Again, similar to previous reviews we stayed out of season with our motorhome and had the place to ourselves. We had a panoramic pitch and it exceeded our expectations with amazing views, wonderful walks and pleasant clean facilities. I personally don't think the web site photos do the village's situation justice. We had a afternoon in the spa and were able to swim and relax in the hot tub taking in the amazing views. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful especially helping us getting our vehicle onto and off the site as we were above the snow line and our pitch had to be cleared.
