Nice hotelDaiwa Roynet Morioka Room is clean And comfortable, only thing I dont like is the pillow is too hard. Room has no English channels. There are many eating places around hotel and few convenient stores as well. Castle Ruins is about 9 mins from hotel. To get to hotel from Morioka station, you cross opposite and head towards the bridge. Walk straight down and in about 500 meters cross the traffic lights and hotel is on the left side. All in all, it will take about 14 mins on foot. We took a taxi from Morioka station and it costs 680 yen.

Very helpful staffMy partner and I recently stayed at Daiwa Roynet Hotel in Morioka for 1 night. Even though it was a short stay, we found the staff extremely helpful, and rooms very tidy and clean. The reception staff assisted us with transferring our luggage to our next destination using kuroneko yamato. We stayed in a double bed room (without breakfast) and had a comfortable stay!! It was a little far from the train station, but was very close to Morioka castle ruins park (Iwate Park) and the famous cherry blossom tree, "Rock-breaking Cherry Tree (Ishiwarizakura)". We were lucky enough to see the beautiful Sakura.

Great location!Very good location in city centre! Surrounded by shops and restaurants. Hotel staff are very helpful but not good at English (they may understand what you say but answer in Japanese). Room is big and clean. Overall it's the first choice if I'm coming to Morioka again.

Still a good hotel chainI had previously stayed at their property in Kokura. Now they give you the option of not cleaning the room for a bottle of mineral water. They say that the water from the tap are safe for drinking and they even paste a sticker there. I thought that saving the Earth was a good idea and participate in their cause. The hotel is situated about 15 mins walk from the JR Morioka Station. Still within walking distance, but after a few walks, I actually took a taxi on the last day, when there was a light rain and I had to tow the luggage. Location wise, it is on Camera Street and one street away from Main Street. Attractions like temples, castle and good eating places are nearby. Room service was good and so are the people at reception.

A good choiceI often choose Daiwa Roynet when I travel around Japan. Daiwa Roynet Morioka is not near the JR Station. It seems to be more than 10 min walk. However, it locates round the corner of the street with a lot of eateries. To walk to Iwate Bank and Morioka Castle Park takes about 8 minutes. Its quite convenient. When I booked the room, I emailed the hotel to ask for a non-smoking room and they said no problem. When I arrived, they told me all the non-smoking rooms were occupied and they upgraded me to twin from deluxe double. It is nearly double the size of a standard double room. The hotel has two carparks, one with a few parking spaces next to the hotel, the other with more parking spaces behind the hotel. When you arrive at the hotel, you can get into the front desk and ask them to show you the direction.
