Location good. Room Okay. Staff so-soI think staying in the Tenjin area is a better choice. But this place was convenient enough. Price point is a good value for the market. Rooms large enough, no drinking water provided. Staff on check in and check out not very informative or efficient. They were unable to proved a receipt (ryoushusho) and referred us to print one off of Booking.com. WRONG ANSWER HONEY! Very annoying as a hotelier myself. BS The neighbors came home very late and drunk and we could hear all the goings-on at 2:30 in the morning. Thin walls!

Great Location!Out of the exit gates at Gion Station, theres a lift to take you up to the street level which was so convenient with my 4 luggages. Then 100m walk to the hotel. Clean and spacious room with humidifier. Only thing was the bath towels had a musky unpleasant smell. Breakfast was a choice of 3 simple set menus. Lots of amenities near the hotel. There is a bus stop right in front. 5mins walk from the hotel were 2 good restaurants Hakata Gion Tetsunabe (gyozas served on a hot pan) and Raku-gaki (yummy yakitori). Both had long queues so reservations recommended. Canal City Hakata Mall and Kawabata Shopping Arcade were 10mins walk from the hotel. If you are taking the Koku Line to Fukuoka airport from Gion Station, cater at least 20mins for domestic terminal and 45mins for international terminal.

Great locationThis hotel is great in terms of its location. Its walking distance to nearby attraction like Hakata Old Town and Canal City Mall. Good size room, bed is comfortable, bathroom is clean and neat, daily room cleaning is provided. On top of this, drip coffee, facial mask and herbal tea are given in addition to standard Japanese green tea. Security is top notch. When checking in, staff scan my face against my passport to ensure genuine guest is checked in. Hotel access card must be used to get into the lift. And the hotel staff at the reception also double up as security as they can see who is trying to get into the lift to go up the rooms. Highly recommended if you come to Fukuoka.

Best in town for this priceThis hotel is strategically located outside Exit3 of the Gion subway station. If you need to drag your luggage, take Exit6 with the elevators. The location of this hotel is excellent, It really cant get any better. From the airport Kuko line, it is only 10mins away. From Hakata Station, only one station away. Then, you can also walk to Canal City, which is 5mins away. If you need shopping and food options, there are plenty around the hotel and also in Tenjin. As for the rooms, it is a typical Japanese-sized room with the cubicle toilets. Shower is strong and clean. Toilet seats are those with warmers, and bidet. During our stay, we had breakfast downstairs in the Yayoi restaurant. Paid ¥500 yen for the Japanese rice and fish breakfast set. The only complaint about breakfast is the excessive crowd and the supplies of food available. As we arrived 30mins before closing, all the guests already finished the food and nothing left on the buffet table. We had to get the staff to replenish more. Seems like the restaurant cannot cope with a full house crowd in the mornings. One last thing about this hotel is the smell at the entrance. There is a strong stench in front of the hotel lobby, and I think it comes from the restaurants next door. I have smelt the same smell at the Ramen Stadium and it must be the smell of some fermented beans that is part of the ramen soup. All in all, Daiwa has met my expectations and this hotel is highly recommended.
