  Nice 1 Night Stay

  Daemyung Resort Gyeongju Room 813 from 22nd to 23rd Nov 2017: Positives: 1) A spacious, clean & comfortable room 2) Nice balcony with theme park & swimming pool view, 2) WiFi in room is fast, PIN not required 3) >100 channels on TV 4) Very well equiped kitchenette - pots & pans, cutleries, rice cooker - great for family 5) Tatami room 6) 2 single beds 7) The breakfast buffet has reasonable variaties - not great but good enough for  weary travellers. Less positives: 1) Split unit Airconditioner can't be switched on - remote control not given 2) Room is stuffy - must open balcony door for fresh air 3) Toiletries not provided but shampoo and body wash dispensers are available 4) Bath towels not provided 5) No bath slippers 6) Shower glass door is not water-tight , allows water to flow out and wet the floor

  There was an earthquake during my stay, and the staff did... so-so.

  It was a typical old-school resort. It wasnt great or amazing, it was just average. What convinced me to give this place a 2 star, however, was when I saw how the staff acted when an earthquake happened in the middle of the night - 4:00 am, to be precise. There was.. well, nothing. I mean, they did broadcast a pre-recorded announcement to use the stairs in case of emergency instead of the elevator, but no one - absolutely no one cared or managed to look up at their customers if anyone got hurt, or was startled. They failed to make their customers feels safe, and therefore to me - makes it a poor hotel.

  Family oriented

  I lived on the lake for a few years, but would go to the resort for food, sauna and as a getaway. The sauna was great but a bit on the small side. It was always very clean and the staff is very helpful.

  Family style Korean hotel

  Hotel room is large enlarge for a family of four, even has a small kitchen with all cooking facilities. The room is heated up during winter period, opening the window made the air more comfortable. Remember to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste. The room l stay faces the lake, which has a wonderful view of the lake and its surrounding. There is also amusement park and supermarket at B1 level. Coffee and desert is available at the lobby. Breakfast is simple but healthy, fruits are limited in the area and during this season.

  Well equipped room

  some reviews mentioned that the hotel has shared bathrooms, which is not true. My room was spacious and has its own ensuite bathroom. The room comes with a kitchenette and a huge fridge/freezer. Excellent lake view too.
