I'll be back!Love this place. I'm totally baffled why anyone would give this less than five stars. I had an amazing weekend there and plan on spending many more there. This would be an amazing place for some spring and fall fishing. Endless possibilities for activities and an amazing host!

Best place to hold a retreat for all ages.Spectacular fishing, wonderful host, unbelievable views. We were using the property for a retreat for our martial arts group, and it went over without a hitch. We did adventures into the wilderness, canoeing, fishing, and more. The kitchen was so nice to have due to its size and usability. Can't say enough about it.

Amazing Spectacular Historical Gem!Crystalwood Lodge is an exceptional place to stay, chock full of its 120+ year history and yet up-to-date enough to comfortably host a large group and even stay inside for indoor activities. The entire place was well maintain and very very clean. The commercial kitchen was amazing, well stocked with a huge walk-in cooler plenty of space for our food we brought for 14! The host Liz (a sled dog musher-Yes she did the Iditarod!) is warm and inviting and does an exceptional job sharing her own remarkable life, she allowed our group to meet her amazing sled dogs. She was present and helpful and never intrusive. It is super close to an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities which our martial art group took advantage of. From unique places to work out (on the marsh) to canoe races, and hiking into the Sky Lakes Wilderness. The canoes and john boats were awesome and there was plenty to go around for our party of 14. Some of us even fished and had a great time, loads of fun perch and some caught trout.

Amazing location, amazing retreatI've been coming here often for the last few years. Amazing location. The variety of wildlife and fauna at this location is extraordinary. Public land surrounds the lodge, with lakefront access on the property. Perfect for fishing, hiking, or canoeing. The PCT is also only a few miles West, and this would make a great retreat from the trail. Liz the owner is fascinating. An Iditarod vet, she will talk dogs with you and anything else for that matter. Interested in learning about sled dogs? You can meet the dogs and you might even go for a ride with them! Truly incredible to have this experience so far south and in this region.

Different experience than othersPros whoch is the reason for 2 star -Liz is really nice and she tries her best to accomodate your needs -Close to Crater lake- about 40-45 mins drive to south entrance -About an hour drive to city of klamath falls where you can grab food, groceries, banks etc. - Secluded area if thats what youre looking for -Nice big area for dogs to run around but need to be careful with some wild animals around -Dog friendly Cons and I really wish Ive known before booking and reason I dont recommend this place -Really outdated- i realize its an old house- but could really use a little upgrade and clean up -Strong smell of gas in the first floor coming from the commercial stove. As soon as you walk in -Small rooms, feels really crowded... - Cannot lock rooms! Unless you have the whole place to yourself (which luckily we did) Im not sure how its going to work. We got locked out of our room because she doesnt have the key since she hasnt locked the room for years... im not sure how it works with other guests. And we did not get the memo that were not supposed to lock...why would you want to leave your room open w strangers in the house? - Rooms itself are okay for the price but then she hits you with a cleaning fee which is almost as much as the room.... which is just ridiculous!!i am so dumbfounded with this! Looking at other dog friendly lodging in the area... i wish we could have stayed somewhere else... Site says premiere but its not even close to premiere. Dont be deceived like we did...or maybe we just lucked out this time...
