Terrible service and arrogant ... avoid avoid avoidThe tap in the bedroom was leaking and this meant the cold water pressure was low. As there were mixer taps in the room when one turned on the water only really hot water came out. Phone calls to reception were not answered and the phone was just cut off meaning that it was not possible to get assistance other than having to walk down to reception. I ordered a floater coffee and was given an Irish Coffee (I have an intolerance to alcohol which made me vomit on the drink). This obviously spoiled the meal. After dinner I went to the bar to buy drinks to take to the room. I was told that the bar was open but not serving and that if I wanted a drink I had to order by room service at an additional charge of £5. The reception staff (two in particular) one being a guy called Ken were really rude and confrontational. No staff wore any ID badges and Ken refused to give his name. The staff were so rude at one point I said I would like to record the conversation and the staff said in that case we are not carrying on engaging with you. Complaints were made and not passed on. The hotel manager has not responded and the place is an absolute shambles. Check out trip advisor ... about 50% of reviews are average or below. This was supposed to be an enjoyable night away for myself and my son. Avoid, avoid avoid. I went away after this with my daughter to a Premier Inn in London and my room was cleaner, higher standard and the staff were amazing. I paid less for 2 nights at the Premier Inn and it was so much better.

Avoid Avoid AvoidTotally disappointing the food was horrendous brought my family there for a break and was attacked my the manager Kennedy. Dont waste your time tried to discuss but Kennedy got really angry towards 2 ladys and trust me avoid dont pay a premium for what service you get. Staff could not even show us the way to the swimming pool COVID measure where very poor believe should be more cautious given the uplift in numbers.

Looking forward to my next visit!!!Although I was unable to get a swimming pool slot on this occasion, the explanations of the manager at the reception desk when he was called upon couldn't be much clearer. Looking forward to my next visit. Friendly staff's as always.

Couldn't find any faultsFor a mother and daughter spa trip we couldn't find any faults with our stay. Staff were very friendly, treatments were relaxing, pool was quiet and the food delicious. Though the rooms are slightly dated, we had no issues with anything in the room (Room 142) and would recommend staying here again. COVID-19 procedures are well thought out with hand sanitiser stations, masks to be worn indoors until seated and temperature checks before entering the pool. Thank you for a relaxing overnight stay through a tough time during this pandemic.

Disappointed on arrival but got a little better! On arrival, the hotel is in a lovely tranquil setting. Lobby/reception quite dark & not very inviting. Reception staff on the phone and we had to wait over 10 mins to even be acknowledged, I had a spa treatment to attend at 3pm, knowing that people have booked the spa they should have at least 2 people on reception to deal with check ins for 3pm! Was told there would be a £5 room service charge on every tray even though the restaurants are not open for lunches, I thought they should wave the fee as you cant really get snacks unless you order room service! We had a family room which is VERY dated, needs to be ripped out and brought into the 21st century, sinks are cracked and there is limescale everywhere, Furniture just very old with scratches and chips! Had to move room as it was freezing cold and just disappointing really. The kettle was awful had to ask for a brand new one as I have my 7 month old baby with us also. More hooks & hangers would be nice in the rooms for coats. Spa is lovely, they accommodated my late arrival as I was waiting at reception to be checked in. Swimming pool small and needs a refurbishment in my eyes, no whirl pool open but steam and sauna is? Gym open, didnt use and you kind of have to go outside to get to the pool, this is not great when I have my 7 month old wrapped in towels! Restaurant food was lovely, tasty great portions but not enough choice. Daughter had a free drink for her b day and happy birthday written on a plate with pancakes. They are happy to have children here with free meals for them and the restaurant staff are friendly and helpful. Because of covid they accommodated as much as they could but overall would use spa again, but not stay at the hotel. Hotel manager was abrupt on checkout as there was a drinks issue as we had our last drinks taken off the bill, but ended up having to pay for them. Also you are obliged to stay in your room more often because of social distancing, so notice the imperfections of the room more. Wont be bk unfortunately!
