Couldn't be betterI turned up here after a five hour drive to a lovely welcome from reception staff. Reception is immaculate. Everything very well explained about cleaning and what to expect. Masks and gel provided if you don't have any. Room allocated was big, bed huge. There is chocolates, water, tea and coffee all in the room. There is even sleep spray for your pillow. I had dinner in the restaurant. Great deal of two courses with wine for £20. Food was Beautiful, fresh and tasty. Honestly had a lovely time here on what was a very reasonably price room. Thank you.

Lack of facilities and disruption disappointingStayed 2 nights for birthday treat and Christmas shopping trip. Main entrance is closed due to the work going on at the Nightingale hospital which is joined onto the hotel at one side! Immediate area around the hotel is all dug up and constant workmen and machinery in view! Guests are now using at side/rear door. If arriving in the dark as we did it is difficult to approach due to the busy road and no footpath, which at the hotel side of the road has all barriers in place blocking it off! The bar and main restaurant are closed so there is no atmosphere what so ever and not a sole around. Reception is an empty dark void and the only activity we saw other than workmen outside was some staff having a photo taken by the Christmas tree ( the only decor in sight) as we left! It is nothing more than a place to sleep at these times! That said the room was comfortable and clean though the bathroom was dated and tatty in places. The shower hose was broken so water squirted everywhere and the constant loud noise when the taps were turned on was our 6am alarm call from the guests in the next room! Which as we are night owls was probably just as annoying for them when we used our bathroom the night before! Breakfast was good and all the staff are polite and trying their best! Greedy people at the top should be reflecting these issues in the price guest are paying a hell of a lot more!!!!!!!

Why stop anywhere elseI booked 5 rooms here for myself and colleagues. Its was a very similar price to the Premier Inn near by so I though wed give it go and Im so pleased we did. In a nutshell its immaculately clean and the food was exceptional on all 4 nights and the staff as extremely friendly. The COVID rules are enforced, which actually allows you to relax knowing the hotel is on top of things and youre safe. (I didnt see a single member of staff ever without their face mask or not sanitising their hands between tables) The rooms were large, very clean and modern with more USB ports all over the room then we have in our offices!! We even had Sky TV with sports. Different league to other hotels and the best Crowne Plaza Ive stayed in. Well Done! Loved it and we will be back.

Fantastic - Lovely Mini BreakSpent a few days over the Christmas period at the Crowne Plaza Harrogate in one of their suites. The suite is extremely spacious, a king-size mattress, mini fridge, seperate lounge area with an armchair, 3 seater sofa and 4 person dining table. When you consider a suite you think luxurious spacious rooms but as much as the suite had everything you want it just fell short of the luxury touch, the sofa was very hard to sit on and the suite felt soulless. A few suggestions, maybe something like pictures on the walls, shelves or more furniture as the suite in my opinion was just like two rooms next to each other. Another thought would be the location of the suite, maybe they should only be on the upper floors which guarantees to offer views, or maybe put them in corners of the building which gives views of town itself. Another suggestion would be to remove the additional door, partition it up and place some comfortable sofas in the room utilising that space. I feel if you decide on these changes the suites would feel more like a luxury suite and less like an two rooms with an interconnecting door and two entrance doors to the corridors. I must give High Commendation to Cecil Gordon the F&B Manager who not only demonstrated but maintained sheer professionalism throughout, his standards were high and it showed, he was very friendly, accommodating and attentive. The hotel itself was scrupulously clean, the quality of the food served in the restaurants at breakfast and dinner was outstanding. Everything about our stay was in keeping within Covid Guideance as you felt totally safe, would highly recommended hotel, well done. Car parking is chargable, Blue badge holders are exempt from any costs. In conclusion, apart from my own personal opinions on the suite you can only rate this hotel, its facilities and staff dedication as high.
