GROSS!I stayed in this hotel a year ago without issue, and thought that is was worth staying at a second time. I was WRONG. We were initially assigned to room 603, which featured unvacuumed floors, baseboard tile that had fallen from the wall and was laying on the floor, and mystery substances on the walls, tv console (which looked like blood splatters), nightstand and curtains. The shower head in the bathroom stall was not secured to the wall, so when you went to adjust the shower head, it seemed like it would fall out of the wall. I took several pictures of the state of our room, and showed them to the manager. She was polite, and acknowledged that there were some "maintenance issues" and re-assigned us to room 417. Room 417 was only moderately better. A wrapper from a prior guest was in the corner of the room, the shower doors would barely slide to allow us into the shower, and the electrical outlet in the bathroom was not secured to the wall. It also had a noticeably crooked headboard on one of the beds. The door on the tv console that housed the mini fridge was practically falling off of its hinges. This room's nightstand also had "mystery stains" and grime which were easily removed (by me, because I had to go out and get some Clorox wipes and clean it myself to even be okay with staying in the room). The only good thing I can say about both rooms is that the beds were comfortable and the sheets smelled clean. Charging $80 /night for these rooms is highway robbery

HorribleThe place is old and dirty. The staff are not helpful. cleaning of room is at check out. Vending and soda machines empty. Cards to enter room had to be programmed daily. no hot water to take shower. Room next door had four people with kids who made noise all night long, and asked for a different room and staff said no. It was unpleasant, and enduring and not helpful for my mother in laws funeral and burial.

Its the PitsWe stayed there for three nights in late August. I cant remember a worse experience. Two of the four lights in the room did not work. Half the time there was no one at the check in counter and when we asked a question about the location of something, the answer was I dont live here. There was a light rain one night and we were awakened by the drip, drip of rain coming into our room. Despite what was promised, the fitness room, breakfast area and pool were all closed.

DisgustingThis place is disgusting! My family and I stayed one night, expecting much more than what we received. The pictures below do not do justice to the filth and service that is the Hampton Marina Hotel! First, I waited almost an hour to check in because there was only one person working the front desk, but only two people in front of me. They are in the middle of remodeling, but that does not excuse the filth that was in the room. The carpet throughout the hallways was stained and smelled like sewage. The drapes were falling and were hanging my a simple thread. The furniture was dirty and stained. The carpet in the room was sticky. The mirrors were ill cleaned with finger prints and smudges all over. The air vents were falling from the wall and covered in dust. The padding around the bathroom vanity was falling and there was mildew and mold everywhere. The curtains would not close all the way. The towels and rags were soured and stuff. The chairs in the room were broken and stained. I could go on forever about all the wrong with this place. However, the view was pretty and it was close to the beach and restaurants.

Horribly Filthy...Shouldn't be openWe've stayed at this hotel in years past, and it was always very nice. I have always loved downtown Hampton, and this location is perfect. I guess the hotel is under new ownership again, and the place is now horrendous. From the entrance to the lobby, to the elevators to the rooms, it is filthy everywhere. It looks and smells like the day after a frat party. Dirt and debris on the floors, unidentifiable scum on the elevator walls. (In these days of Covid 19 you actually expect hotels to be cleaner than usual!) We checked into our room, and instantly realized that it had not been cleaned. Obviously someone had been sleeping in the bed, and the sheets and cover were nasty. There was food debris in the chair. I went back down to the front desk. The housekeeping staff had left for the day, so we got a key to another room and had to move our stuff. The desk staff didn't seem surprised at all, like it was a standard occurrence. The new room was OK, but run down. The hotel is apparently under renovation, and the construction workers were banging from 7am to 7pm. Worse was that they were nearly running us over in the lobby and the elevators, and NONE of them wore masks. (Signs all over the lobby about mask wearing.) It got to be ridiculous. My wife had to jump out of the way at one point so she didn't get run down by a guy pushing a dresser on a cart! Really, we travel a lot, staying in hotels all over the world. This was the worst hotel experience I've had in 30 years. BTW... We were actually trying to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Major failure on my part when I booked this hotel. And I had to pay for this???
