  Crowne Plaza at Chengdu, Sichuan China

  This is one of my best hotel I'd stayed in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. Not only that the hotel is clean but its very roomy and with an excellent bathroom facility. I feel very comfortable there and I would definitely recommend this hotel to families and friends who's going to visit Chengdu. I gave an extra bonus to the hotel breakfast. They have huge variety from American style breakfast to Chinese tradition congee style. They even have special section for just noodle bar. I can't say more, you have to try it out yourself.

  Very good with minor concerns

  Decently priced, well constructed. Quality materials. Front desk is very helpful. Minor problem The puddle before getting into the swimming pool is potentially dangerous. Tiny smell of smoking in room.

  a very decent choice

  I stayed here for a business event in September, for 5 nights. The hotel is supermodern, and well up to the standards one would expect. The lobby is very impressive, with very high ceilings and lots of seating areas. Room was on 23rd floor so a good view - get a high floor. Bed comfortable, bathroom large. There is, as some have noted, a strange bath, but nonetheless, it was perfectly ok for a soak. The shower is a wetroom. Lots of lotions and potions. Room was very clean, and well serviced each day. The breakfast was again good without being excellent. There are plenty of options, chinese, indian and western. Excellent coffee, and a very fine omelette station. Checkin and checkout was smooth - checking in I had a local colleague aid me, out was alone, I saw no difference. Staff speak some English and other languages and seemed happy to go find someone more fluent at need. They arranged a taxi to the Airport, 120 RMB prearranged. It took <10m to get the cab to the hotel.

  Excellent hotel

  On my tour to Chengdu, I stayed at two Crowne Plaza hotels, their Panda Hotel and also the Wenjiang Hotel. Both were excellent and were very quiet (noise levels at around 23 dBA). The hotel at Wenjiang appeared to be more elaborate with extensive facilities in the large lobby area. Enjoyed both.

  We had a pleasant stay

  Our room was very nice. It was clean and serviced daily. Drawer space, desirable for a longer stay, was lacking. We forgot to ask for a non-smoking room but there wasn't much residual smoke odor--at least not enough for us to ask to change rooms. The wireless left a lot to be desired. Front desk staff were helpful; checkin was easy. However, to be part of an international group, we would have expected more staff to have a better command of English. Breakfast was good with many options, especially the omlet selections. The coffee wasn't very good--a cup at a time brew system. The hotel is about a 15-20 minute walk to the nearest subway station. It takes about an hour to take the subway into the center of the city. There is not much in the way of restaurants and shopping within walking distance of the hotel.
