Disappointed, very dirtyWe have just stayed at Cranmore House. First impression was how dirty the carpets were, not from just the two beautiful cats they have, but the carpets have not seen a hoover for a long time, including our room. My companion complained that the pillow was smelling of sweat. I always take my own pilllow so that was not a problem for me. Anyone with allergies should not stay here. The host was delightful and very helpful, but is NO housekeeper, not sure what his wife Jan does, but was not around. The house is clutered and not professional. I do not understand from all the great reviews, other than something has happened here, and it was not what you would expect from all the great reviews. Cleanliness should be paramount in any good B & B.

Warm welcomeI stayed one night at Cranmore House while on a business trip, and will certainly book again. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable, and the breakfast delicious. The owner Steve, who is a trained chef, was very welcoming & helpful, and obviously wants his guests to feel at home. Hoping to use the pool next time.

Nice comfortable staySteve was a very good host and the room was very comfortable. The inclusion of a tassimo coffee machine with Colombian coffee pods was most welcome, as was the multiple television channels available. The free car parking was also welcome

Good place to staySteve welcomed us at the door and treated us as if we were his friends coming to visit. Our room was clean and comfortable with a great bathroom! He suggested where to eat for the evening and it was a wonderful seafood dinner. Wi-fi was a little weak early in the evening, but became stronger later. Breakfast was excellent. His tips for additional places to visit turned out to be some of our favorite places in the trip!

Cute and thoughtful stayPROS: - Steve was welcoming, and went out of his way to help with any questions or concerns. - The room is thoughtfully decorated with many little touches. The bed is comfy too! Strong, good shower. - It is not terribly far from the town center as well, about 1.2 miles, and I was able to walk both ways. Local buses pass by as well. CONS: - Squeaky floors. Not a problem for me but I felt like I might be disturbing people underneath at early morning or late night. - The only tweak I would actually suggest is for the bathroom flush to be fixed. It requires ridiculously too much pressure to work, very unnatural. For any other accommodation I would have deducted a star because of this alone, but I'm being generous here.
