    Excellent hotel and great value.

Just spent two nights at Hotel again and standards certainly haven't gone down and it receives five stars for everything being sanatised. Staff and host are so friendly especially young girl that served breakfast. Breakfast really filling and freshly made , try the scrambled eggs, delicious. I have no qualms in recommending this hotel. Room 11 has excellent views.Must try the evening meal next time.

    It works but no character

I have submitted a separate review for the restaurant which is excellent as the two are managed separately. I now that under COVID furnishings have had to be removed but nevertheless it is still possible to leave the hotel and room aesthetically pleasing. For the price paid I expected something a little better. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of storage space, however the windows could not be opened and as it was not air condoned there was no circulation of air. This was a major disadvantage for me. The bathroom was spacious but the shower was a small power shower with very little water pressure. Again there were windows but they couldn't be opened. COVID precautions and explanations were very good. The hotel was very clean. Furnishings were basic and in need of replacement. With a little money spent on it this could be a very good hotel.

    Good short stay.

My son in law and I stayed for one night while doing a couple of days Munro climbing. The hotel was spotlessly clean, great value for money and central to Pitlochry with good parking. Very friendly and efficient staff.

"Comfortable, clean, safe, welcoming, and very friendly".

We arrived at the hotel late in the evening, in the dark, and in heavy rain, after a long drive down from Durness via John O'Groats. We were impressed and grateful to be met at the main doors by Chetan, who assisted us into the hotel, adhering to Covid-19 safe distancing. From Reception he then went on to explain to us all of the many various measures the hotel was taking, and had put in place, due to Covid-19, to ensure a safe visit for guests. Everything from the room key, to TV remotes, were fully sanitised and handed over in plastic bags. Whilst this is an unusual thing to see, as we come to terms with the current situation however, it left me with the confidence that the hotel and management take the risks extremely seriously, and take all measures possible to ensure guests are as safe as can be! He went on to explain that the rooms themselves were now designed and styled with safety in mind, whereby comfort and cleanliness were the order of the day, with furniture and surfaces that were stylish and functional, but can be cleaned and maintained to prevent risk. Indeed, we entered our room to find it spotlessly clean, with coverings in place for the usual hospitality hot drinks tray, glasses etc, all to ensure cleanliness. The room itself was comfortable, with a lovely firm double bed, and after a long drive, I was pleasantly surprised to find it had a bath as well as a shower, which is all I was expecting. I am of a notion that it appears the hotel has recently gone from being in the ownership of a certain large up and coming brand chain, back to independent ownership, and if so, it's nice to see something bucking the trend the other way around just now, where the opposite is usually the case and such independent hotels are being bought up by a certain three letter brand name. Again, this is my own guess, and I could be wrong, but I was left with the notion that the hotel had recently perhaps acquired new independent owners, and that the new owners wanted to do everything in their power to ensure the guests felt valued and appreciated! Once settled into my room, and after a nice hot bath, I finished off some business work at the desk on my laptop (fast free WiFi), and then turned in for a lovely night's sleep. Next morning, breakfast was an equally lovely affair... Our Restaurant host Eric showed us to our table, with a wonderful view straight out to the Pitlochry hills. He explained the menu offerings to us, and my wife and I both opted for the hearty Full Scottish Breakfast, complete with my favourites of Black Pudding, Lorne Sausage, and "Tatty Scone". We noted a varied range of alternative options available too however. Eric checked in on us throughout breakfast, and also afforded us with good conversation, without ever being intrusive, and ensured we were well catered for with our breakfast offering. Another of the Managemt Team, Amisha, then called into the restaurant to check that our stay and our breakfast was up to standard, and also offer further warm greetings. All in all, we felt like we were treated like truly valued guests. We returned to our rooms, after a very hearty breakfast indeed, sad in the knowledge that it was unfortunately time to check out, and commence the journey home. As I type this review just prior to checking out however, I am already looking at possible dates in November for a revisit, and there is every chance I may be asking Amisha to check dates for us to return, at the very point we check out! ...As be assured, after such a lovely stay, we will readily return again. Thank you to all the staff team for a wonderful visit, that made us feel both valued, as well as safe too, throughout. Well recommended!

    Excellent hotel and restaurant.

Very hard to fault, the room has to be the cleanest we have ever stopped in, the owners could not have been more attentive, price was very good, Room 5 has great views, if anything the bed was a little hard for our liking, and we will be back. Now for the restaurant - My wife is vegan and they could not have been more helpful, they cooked her a pepper stuffed with couscous, even though it was not on the menu. Breakfast was great, the young lass who served us could not have been more helpful and ensured my wife had a vegan breakfast. Best Restaurant in Pitlochry in our view, tried another very popular restaurant the other 2 nights, and it was not a patch on the Craigvrack restaurant.
