  Worse service and bad experience!

  When we checked in at 10pm, the front desk agent was so foul and rude, it was as if we were doing her a favor to stay at the hotel. No greeting, no hello and quite rude! She was in the middle of cleaning the front of the service area and ind of shrugged when we walked in. Perhaps she is not happy in her job or not happy with something else, dont bring that to work. Stay at home as I am sure during this pandemic where hotels are badly affected, there are so many other staffs being laid off who would gladly do the job. She said outrightly that there were no king beds after we confirmed and paid for the king bed and confirmed with another agent earlier that morning that we are getting a king bed. We refused to budge and requested a king room and asked what the occupancy was and she said it was about 70%. I said well, you have to find us a room as we are loyal customers - platinum members and we want a room that we have already paid for. The agent begrudgingly and almost combatively said well I will have to bump a titanium member's room and give it to you to which I said again - I just need a room I paid for! Finally she gave us a room on the ground floor. The TV is the room wasnt working - no signal. The bathroom shower door does shut properly and leaked water all over the bathroom and the topping on the cake was the coffee machine was not functional when we tried in in the morning. We were both VERY tired to even complain, didnt even bother, hence i am writing it here. We called the front office in the morning to speak to Phil - The GM and waited for a return call. No reply. We left in the morning. This is totally unacceptable especially during a pandemic when the hotels should be treating all customers regardless of their Marriott status with respect and safety. The whole time I was there no one was cleaning or wiping anything. I dont think this hotel is safe ! Please stay elsewhere and keep yourself and family safe. I am sure there will be a reply to this claiming how they are practicing all sort of covid relation precaution. I didnt see any. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. If Marriott is smart they should deflag this hotel.

  Not up to Marriott standards

  Disappointed that we were charged a COVID fee and yet only one of the two elevators was working. Given there was a large wedding party using the elevators, making it necessary for me to wait for the elevator to cycle for them three times before I could use it the evening we arrived. The next morning was the same. I had to use the stairs to get down and up in a timely manner. The attendant at the desk was not aware the elevator wasnt working. When you are trying to get your luggage up and down and one elevator isnt working add the COVID makes it uncomfortable to be with others on an elevator.

  What happened?

  We have stayed here before since we enjoy visiting the York area. The hotel is nice and comfortable but; we had no maid service the two nights of our stay. We were out for four hours the first day and two hours the second day. Two house-cleaning carts were in the hall both days when we left our room. The trash was overflowing, the towels were wet and nasty, and I miss having nice crisp bed linens to climb into at night. Sorry, this is one of the reasons I like going to a hotel. What happened? Why no maid service? There are other hotels to choose from that hopefully take care of their guests. Definitely not Marriott Bonvoy quality/service.

  First hotel stay since pandemic

  I was in York, PA for a wedding. This hotel was the designated place for all out of town guests. After a four drive from NY I arrived at the Marriot Courtyard at 2 am on a Friday morning. I was worried because I hadn't made reservation for Thursday night/Friday am arrival. The front desk person checked found an available room which I was able to check into immediately. Since I had reservations for Friday and Saturday night they were able to just roll over my room into the Friday/Saturday reservation. I did have to change rooms but it was only a couple of doors down the hall. I came in early because I was invited to play golf with the father of the bride. Covid protocols were observed at all time with masks mandatory, hand sanitizers stations, and social distancing. The service was attentive and helpful. The room was typical hotel room it was clean and comfortable. The hotel was conveniently located next to a shopping mall where shopping and food were readily available. The after party for the wedding was at the same hotel which made it convenient without having to worry about taking Uber or shuttle. I enjoyed my stay at the Marriot Courtyard.

  Not safe for Covid

  We have stayed here several times, and this stay was awful. The most impactful issue was the fact that the hotel made no effort to manage covid safety. People were permitted to congregate in the lobby in large numbers with no masks on. On one night of our stay, there was a sports team having an equipment issue event, and they took over the lobby and bistro, and every nook and cranny of the first floor. I'm talking about over a hundred people crowded in that space for over an hour. The new manager was on site and did nothing to solve the issue. Outside of covid safety, there were other issues. The hotel is clearly a popular place for sports team weekend travel, but the hotel does nothing to publicize or control any kind of curfew. So, with parents partying in the lobby, this means kids in large groups are running the hallways at all hours. Noise travels very well in this hotel, and it could be heard not just from m the hallway, but the adjoining room, as well as the room above. Bridget at the front desk was the one and only staff member who belongs working in hospitality that I encountered. She was kind, helpful, and can clearly juggle a lot.
