    Wrong timing, wrong room

    Ended up in Tuscaloosa when the college hast two events going on. Needed the room and got a confirmed King room at this hotel for 3 times the normal rate, but had no choice. When we checked in we were given a room with two double beds and handicap fittings, When I complained I was told the entire hotel was booked (like I hadn't figured that out because of the ridiculous price) and they switched my room. I believe bait and switch is against the law. They really did not care. In addition the room had a connecting door that had a two inch space at the bottom. The guest next door played the TV all night very loudly and I could actually understand every word from the program. If that wasn't enough I could hear the trucks outside on the highway too. To top it off we never got the wake up call we requested. I think it is time the government stopped allowing price gouging and bait and switch by the hotel chains.

    I had to write a review about the professionalism, care, and due diligence that 2 Courtyard employees demonstrated during our stay. We arrived very late and Rex took extremely good care of us. He is an outstanding young man. I met Sebastian this morning and the same behavior continued. He made sure we were taken care as we checked out. Marriott Leadership, you have 2 amazing employees in Rex and Sebastian. Continue to invest in them and build their capability so that they can progress their career with Marriott if they choose. AJ

    Choose another hotel during COVID pandemic

    Tuscaloosa mandates mask use in public and shared spaces. Marriott corporate policy requires masks to be worn by all Marriott staff and guests in all of its hotels. With that assurance posted on all Marriott booking sites, I booked my daughter there for a week between her apartments the last week of July. At a high cost I might add. Just to report: masks were rarely seen worn by any hotel staff. Maids and cleaning staff preparing rooms between guests didnt wear masks. Few guests traveling from all parts of the country arriving at this location wore masks either in common areas or elevators and there was no attempt by hotel at enforcement or compliance either. So I dont trust the safety, cleaning and disinfecting protocol at this hotel to be compliant with Marriott policy. And guest services didnt seem to care when my daughter expressed her concerns. Contact tracing anyone? Good luck. What a joke. There were other issues during this stay that werent up to Marriott standards, like smoking in rooms, noise and party violations, but the biggest concern was this hotels cavalier dismissal of protocol intended to protect the health of its employees and guests during a pandemic. Grade: F.

    Decent hotel...right off the freeway

    Not too bad. I guess they refurbished - not great but passable. Service was friendly and the desk person wore a mask. Too people sitting in the business center did not and they should enforce it. Marriott preaches safety so you should enforce it. Thanks Both the evening and morning person were very friendly.

    Like this Hotel only not during COVID

    We had to go to Tuscaloosa in short notice. Got in late, the computers were backing up and waited, the key didnt work and had to go get it. Finally after the second time got it. Was leaving and people werent wearing masks in the hotel. Even with all signs stating to wear masks. A little disappointed especially with it being the second time staying there.
