  Courtyard in Topeka

  Es un hotel pequeño pero bastante comodo y con un ambiente muy familiar. El personal muy atento y amable lo que hace la estadia muy confortable. El servicio de restaurante es muy bueno y con buena variedad. El unico problema que tiene es que el fitness center es demasiado pequeño y no puede servir a mas de 4 personas. Una de las ventajas es que queda contigua la Mall de Topeka.

  Be Forewarned

  I have stayed at this property several times over the past few years with mixed experiences. However, when I booked this property for two separate stays in October I did not pay close enough attention to see that the property added a $10 daily parking fee. What??? Keep in mind that NO ONE not staying at this property would park there, it is literally on an "island" between a shopping mall, with plenty of free parking, and three chain restaurants with their own parking. The restaurants near the property are not even open for breakfast, so no early morning parking issues in any event. I missed the deadline for responding to the Marriott generated review request, so other than expressing my displeasure at the front desk, this may be the first they hear about my concerns. In my experience parking is only charged when parking is at a premium or when the general public pays to park in facilities adjacent to the property, NOT when their is plenty of parking that would ONLY be used by hotel patrons. In my mind this is just a scam to increase revenues with being able to advertise an artifically low daily room rate. I will NOT be staying at this property again. I will investigate other, non-Marriott, properties in the area. I CANNOT recommend this property, and, in fact, advise others to avoid this property due to this poorly advised policy.

  pay parking and narrow showers

  We stayed the weekend before NYE and I was disappointed. As other reviews mentioned, there is a $10 fee for parking. In an unsecured lot across the access road from a mall and restaurants/banks with their own parking. If you have a trailer or RV you have to park at the mall anyway, I don't know if you get charged parking for that or not. I also disliked the bathroom and the communication of the management. I emailed them on 12/30 and never heard back so I contacted Marriott and was told on 1/20/20 I would hear from the property within 5 business days. Nope. The bathroom design is where the sink is outside the toilet and shower which I don't like but I know some people do (or property designers think they do). The shower and toilet room was large but because of the door the shower stall itself was very narrow, maybe two feet, which wouldn't be bad if the sliding shower door was mounted internally and the shampoo/conditioner/body wash weren't mounted opposite the door taking up about 6 inches of space under the shower spray. If you're just passing through on I-70 I would stay closer to 70. Presumably those properties would have free parking and a shorter time on the toll road. And maybe they won't look like cheaply remodeled hotels bought from other chains.

  A typical Courtyard stay

  The hotel is centrally located with at least 3 restaurants in walking distance. Friendly staff at every turn. It is a bit worn looking but it is comfortable. My stay was for work so I only needed a bed to crash in at night. The bed was just fine and the room was a descent size.

  Great hotel and location

  I got into town really early in the morning around 5am and to my surprise the hotel clerk checked me in. That's a huge PLUS.THANKS. I got a double queen room towards the end of the hallway and that was awesome. Great atmosphere as with most Marriots. I have no complaints. The location is another added advantage for those who may not be driving. You can literally walk to so many restaurants and the Mall. Overall it was a wonderful stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel again.
