  Pretty Nice

  As Courtyards go this is pretty nice. A bit older than others I have stayed at but well maintained. Not as upscale as other Courtyards but still nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Bistro was fine I was able to get a good martini after a long day of travel so I really appreciated that. The location was an issue for me because I needed to work in Sacramento and wound up staying here because I made last minute reservations and couldnt find a room closer to work. Its only a few miles of freeway commuting but its pretty bad traffic between Rancho Cordova and Sacramento. I figured out the second day that I had to leave the hotel by 7 AM to ensure getting to work on time. When the traffic is lighter it really is no big deal to drive to Sacramento but if you need to go during weekday commute hours plan ahead!

  Older Rooms, But Clean and Great Staff

  TL:DR - Clean Older Rooms, Fantastic Front Desk Staff, Lots of Parking I stayed at this property three weekends over the course of two months while I was working in Sacramento. This property has a large parking lot that wraps around the property, so parking should not be an issue. Check-In was great! I arrived into Sacramento a lot earlier than I planned to and called ahead to see if they could accommodate an early check-in. To my surprise, they already had my room ready. I got to the property 20 minutes later and they had my keys ready to go! The rooms are a bit older, but everything was clean and tidy when I got into the room. My room had a balcony, which was an added bonus! Even though the highway is right next to the property, the road noise level is pretty low for the proximity. There is a fridge, but no microwave in the room. The neighboring area is business parks and a mall with a ton of food options. Overall a great couple weekends at this property. Very comfortable and awesome staff!

  Drive a little further. Stay somewhere else.

  I'm a Lifetime Platinum Elite member with over 800 stays in Starwood/Bonvoy properties. This is not a good one. The first sign of mediocrity can be found in the parking lot, where you'll find a huge sign warning you to hide your valuables and lock your car. Upon check-in, you'll receive another piece of paper you're supposed to put on your dash. This paper has the same warning printed on it. Once you're inside the hotel, things don't get any better. This property has seen better days. Although this is a full service Marriott with a Starbucks on-site and a full service restaurant, everything is outdated. I would have preferred to stay at a different Marriott property.

  Post COVID 19

  We stayed here for a weekend with two other couples. The facility was clean and not heavily populated. The only issue we had is that our room smelled like smoke. We asked to be moved to another room after a couple of hours because my husband bought air freshener but it didn't help. When I spoke with the employee at the front desk she asked why I waited a couple of hours. I was a little offended by this because I didn't know if she was implying that we caused the smoke smell in the room. I informed her that we tried to buy air freshener rather than complaining about the room. We were moved to another room without any complications. some of the rooms are a little dusty and I believe housekeeping should be reinstated at these facilities. There is no housekeeping services while you're staying in the room, only services between guests.

  Everything was great until the last day...

  Everything was great until I went to extend my reservation. The room was originally in my dads name but since he was at work a majority of the time they let me add my name to the reservation. The first day they were awesome and completely accommodating, but the second day when I went to check in again my wallet had gone missing with my id inside of it. The man who was working the front desk was very rude and wouldnt even work with me even though I had checked in the previous day. So I went back to my room to get a hold of my dad when I heard a knock at the door. It was the manager I presume, the front desk clerk who helped me the day before. And he told me we needed to check out because I didnt have an id and because we had left the side door propped and that was odd behavior. Im not quiet sure how thats odd behavior but we packed up and left upon their request. Then they kept my deposit even though we left the room cleaner then when we came in. I would have given them an A+ rating if it wasnt for the nonsense on that last day and especially for keeping my deposit. Save your self the trouble and your deposit. Stay somewhere that isnt so wishywashy.
