A BLOODY & Unsanitary DANGEROUS Mess!!

This review should not even have a 1 star rating. Wishing I could choose negative 100! We stayed at this hotel due to my cousin needing heart surgery at UC Davis. This Courtyard Marriott was recommended to us by the Hospital. We are currently looking for ways to notify the health department and the hospital and possibly local news stations regarding the dangerous conditions we encountered at this hotel. I will be left with severe PTSD because of this stay. I can't undo the images of what looked like a crime scene. My Aunt unknowingly slept on a mattress that was blood stained, which had seeped to the box spring / platform which is how we found the problem. We called down to the front desk and demanded that they switch out the bed and inform Corporate. 5 days later and still no word from Corp. Both the front desk agent, David Gustavson, who asked me to email him pictures and Dan, who swapped out the bed, were horribly shocked and grossed out by the mattress and both said it was unacceptable and should not have happened. To give credit where credit is due, both of these guys were very understanding and nice. However, the GM, Zuzana Strouhalova was horribly rude and tried to pass the blood off as coffee and told me that shes not going to argue with me. It's difficult to convey everything that went wrong with this stay, but here is an attempted list. And there were two rooms, because we insisted on ultimately changing ADA rooms from #349 to #249, and a similar problem was in the new room! Room #349 * Blood stained box spring/platform!! * Blood stained mattress!!!!! * Second bed had urine stains on it! * No mattress pad! Thin sheet between my Aunt and the blood! * Blood stained curtains * Stained carpet under the bloody area, most likely blood. * Mold around tub * Mold around toilet towards bottom * Filth under bed with wrappers and crud * My Aunt threw her nightgown in the trash when she found out that she slept on blood. * Dangerous conditions!!!! We had a heart patient staying in the room and we have no idea what sort of disease this person possibly had who bled out. * Candy or pink pill on floor that could kill any child or dog, depending on what it was. * I called down to the front desk and asked to speak to the GM. A lady with a thick accent, put me on hold and transferred me to the GM's voicemail. I left a long message asking to hear back about the bloody situation. I called right back down to ask for a new room and its as the same thick accent which matched the GM's voicemail, which was Zuzana, the General Manager. I went down to talk to her in person. I asked her if she was the one who answered my first call when I asked for the GM. She said yes. I then asked why she would transfer me to her own voicemail if she had answered and already knew about my email that I had sent the day before with pictures about the situation. She said she had other tasks to do. My Aunt slept on a BLOODY mattress and she couldn't call us IMMEDIATELY upon arriving to work? Are you kidding me???? * I asked that the email be forwarded to Corporate. I have still not heard back (if it was forwarded to them as I was promised). *ADA bathroom was a tub, not a walk in shower. Room 249 * ANOTHER stained box spring / platform!!!! * We didn't take the sheets off to look at this mattress. We couldn't stomach anymore. * Housekeeping left DIRTY soap in our shower from prior guests!! * No Shampoo *ADA bathroom was a tub, not a walk in shower. * Dallas was the "housekeeping police" and she delivered my shampoo, but had a major attitude when I told her that Dave from the front desk said a housekeeper could come in and clean out the old dirty soap and clean up the bathroom. She finally brought a housekeeper to our room and only allowed her to disinfect the soap dish. She had a fit when I asked her to do the tub. And then Dallas refused to have the house keeper go over the toilet area or anything else. It was unbelievable how mistreated we were. * Zuzana called and suddenly had an attitude change and said we could get one night free in the new room. When I let David at the front desk know about Dallas's attitude, he informed me that Zuzana had instructed him that anything beyond what has already been done must go through her directly from then on as if WE were the BLOODY PROBLEM!!! Wow!! In the end, they comp'd two of three nights. I want a full refund and my Aunt needs a new nightgown! Unacceptable Marriott! Your product has gone to hell. You used to offer a good product, but in the last 20 years I have had issues with every room I've stayed in! I've told you that Tilex is the answer for all of your countless mold bathroom issues, but it's been ignored advice. I travel for a living and have stayed in other Courtyard Marriott's for up to 6 weeks at a time. I know your product well and I can always count on rude staff, mold, old furniture, no plugs in convenient spaces, dark rooms and bathrooms with horrible lighting, filthy carpets, etc. All around out dated! And now BLOODY MATTRESSES, BOX SPRINGS, CARPETS AND CURTAINS! I advise anyone reading this...in my personal and PROFESSIONAL opinion...stay at HILTON properties! You can always count on them to be light, bright, clean, feels new, friendly staff and a great value for your money. The tub was deep yet had a flat bottom with texture so that you won't slip! Huge to me since I am one of thousands who slipped in a tub last year and broke my arm. Take my advice! Don't stay at a Marriott! If you do, then you better check your BLOODY MATTRESS!

    Disgusting

Garbage stacked up in ice machine areas. Towels in the hallways for days waiting to be picked up.Floors in the hallways have not been vacuumed in at least 4 days.Being so close to the hospital and during COVID I would expect a more sanitary establishment.
