  The rooms are nice, clean, and housekeeping was terrific. There is a Starbucks, food and drink on site so if you don't want to leave you wont have to. We ended the day in the hot tub which was nice. Staff good.

  Could do better for the price and area and RIP OFF $11 parking!

  Rochester has a lot of hotel options to accommodate the many people coming in to use Mayo services. I had to stay an additional night in Rochester as my spouse in the hospital, was told late in the afternoon the doctor wanted him to stay another night. I looked on hotels.com and selected this Marriott instead of another hotel brand I use more often because the other hotel was $20 more and I figured why not save myself the money - it's not a vacation - it's only one night. Well, what they don't tell you at this Marriott (until you get here and get the bill slid under your door) that parking is $11 - in a really tight parking lot that I had to park outdoors (in frigid temps) anyway because so many cars park incorrectly and take two spots. Considering the Marriott doesn't offer free breakfast (and the other place does - a very nice spread I might add) - I figured I really didn't save a darn thing! The room is a typical Marriott style. One wonders if they have interior designers because if they do - they should fire them! Personally all bathtubs should have grab bars in the event you have a guest who has mobility issues. Second, the TV is hooked up on the desk with a sliding mechanism but only decent for watching from the sofa. The desk is TOO HIGH to use with a laptop. The bed is decent and I had a fair nights sleep BUT I wonder about cleanliness when I find a used wash cloth in the room! Seriously? On another note, this is a few miles from Mayo and Methodist complex is you need to go there - but it is right across the street from St. Mary's. I personally think for the price, Marriott should provide free parking and breakfast. I stay in a lot of hotels - this is a competitive business and people do read reviews. Keep it up and people will go elsewhere for their stays!

  Was greeted at the front door by down at the front desk, extremely polite, felt right at home as soon as I walked in, this is a very clean and modern courtyard, very well taken care of, and right across the street from the hospital

  The staff at this hotel are consistently professional and nice to deal with. The rooms are dated. I dont think this hotel has been remodeled since it opened about 20 years ago. Its clean enough but it definitely needs a refresh. All four pillows on the bed were foam rubber, overstuffed, and lumpy. If youre a stomach sleeper like me, choose another hotel. Also the parking garage is small and the individual stalls are very narrow. The hotel is very convenient to the St Marys hospital complex. If youre going to St Marys thats great. If youre going to one of the Mayo Clinic buildings then there are better choices closer to the clinic.

  Location, location, location...

  We traveled to Rochester, MN like so many, to the Mayo Clinic. I had to have open heart surgery, which included three days of pre-op testing. The Courtyard Marriott (and it's 'sister' property) are literally across the street from the front entrance to St. Mary's. There are several hotels also 'across' the street. But not from the front entrance like the Courtyard Marriott. Our nearly two-week stay was going to include a few days post-op, so being close to the Mayo was important. Although I was a 'guest' for five days at St. Mary's my significant other was completely comfortable and well attended staying here. Dean and Charlie, the friendly bar tenders, the helpful front desk personnel, made the stay feel familiar and comfortable. Because these are Covid times, things are just not normal. No daily housekeeping, my guy changed our sheets and got fresh towels on the day of discharge...but we didn't mind. You can find fault in anything if you chose. I try to look for the positives. If your stay is extended like ours, Courtyard's restaurant, Saints on Second was pretty good. There is a great whole foods type grocery within walking distance (FreshThyme) where you can pick up healthy snacks, water, wine, organic fare. And for weaker moments, a McDonald's, KFC (for fast food fix) and a few blocks away is the Canadian Honkers restaurant. You cannot beat this location if you are a Mayo patient. We walked and walked and walked after surgery and felt completely safe. There is no shuttle service available on Sunday, FYI, so we had to call a cab. On week days, walk across the street to St. Mary's and catch the free Mayo shuttle to downtown Gonda/Methodist and all the restaurants there (Chesters!). All-in-all, even though this was no picnic, if I ever had to go back to Mayo, I would stay here. They offer a Mayo discount. Ask!
