  Un placer

  Como siempre es un placer en alojarme en Marriott o spg. Recorrí mucho la ruta y siempre en estos hoteles nunca un problema. Súper recomendable. Muy limpio y todos muy amables espero volver pronto!!! N

  Best place to stay in Ocala!!

  Conveniently located off I75. Close to shopping and restaurants. Clean, beds so comfortable that you don't want to leave. Staff very helpful. We kept adding a day to our original 2 day stay and ended up staying 4 nights. This is our hotel to stay when we visit Ocala!

  LIPSTICK ON A PIG

  We had booked this room prior to ready all of the awful reviews and even thought about cancelling but did not. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to see that they were doing some repairs and painting and such so far so good. It was the typical old style Courtyard that we used to love with the pool in the center square surrounded by rooms with balconies. As we entered the front door we could see that they had done some major remodeling with new sleek furniture, new wall coverings and carpet and had a more modern look...unfortunately the musty moldy smell that can best be described as a mixture of chlorine swimming pools and a toxic chemical waste dump was overpowering and we were glad we had masks on. Being brave souls we ventured forward and a gruff person (chemical intoxication?) behind the registration counter registered us and furnished the keys. The odor was not as bad during the hike to the elevator and we went up the the 3rd floor and the elevator door opened to the fumes of weed swirling around the hallway. We went down to our room (smell became less) and entered our room. The odor of stale cigarette smoke was bad. Room had been remodeled with newer furniture, carpet, wall coverings, curtains and tile in the bathroom. It was sort of clean, dirt in corners of the bathroom and a bit of debris, including lots of pet fur under the couch and near the desk area. TV, refrigerator and microwave all worked and appeared to be fairly new as well. The crease/hole in the middle of the king bed mattress put the grand canyon to shame and it felt like we were sleeping in a cheap hammock. The tobacco odors were so bad (i am allergic) that I could not sleep, my sinuses swelled, inside of my nose burned and my eyes were burning, teared up and red. I got up around 1 am for a drink and to try to clear my sinuses snapped on the desk lamp to be greeted by a covey of 3/4 inch long brown roaches scurrying for cover, managed to get one with a tissue i had in my hand but the others escaped behind the desk and some down into the microwave cabinet area. Lots of people previously complained abut noise, room to room noise was not a problem but around 5 in the morning the dumpster trucks were servicing the local businesses close by and there is a Cracker Barrell parking lot adjacent to the hotel that allows overnight truck, RV and whoever parking. Groups of roving people. So much for a restful night. All clothes that we wore and our jackets smelled so bad of smoke that we had to put them in a plastic trash bag and launder them later to keep from smelling up the car. i hated to write this review because it does appear that the owner/manager of the premise took the list of negative reviews posted about this location seriously and sent a good deal of money trying to correct things. Lipstick on a pig does not alter the fact that you are dealing with a pig. We are also noticing that although Marriott has a non-smoking policy they are not enforcing it and do not have the expertise to clean/deodorize rooms where people chose to ignore the policy. Marriott's used to be our go to sites but no longer, they have sunk way down on our list because of too many experiences with them like this one.

  Way Overpriced!!

  The room was very old, smelled bad, had stained walls & the A/C unit was inconsistently working. Nothing to offer for breakfast except a to go bag that they stop handing out at 8:30am. However, the staff was friendly and warm, but overall this hotel is way overpriced. I will not be staying at a Marriott again.

  Old outdated

  I would absolutely not recommend staying here. When you pull in it literally looks like its falling down. It smells the walls are paper thin and it was dirty. I honestly felt like we were staying in a motel.
