    Clean, Comfortable and Convenient

    We spent one night at the Courtyard on a visit to historic Yorktown. We did have an issue with our first room, and they moved us to another room right away. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the bathroom had a nice big shower. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 they were not able to offer the breakfast, but other than that it was a good experience. Very friendly front desk staff.

    Do not stay here!!!

    Thought wed give this a try based on reviews and being a loyal Marriott customer. After this stay I will NEVER stay at a Marriott again, period!! Front desk woman (who was the supervisor) so rude. We never got towels or any services and COVID was to blame. They didnt even offer to bring towels to our room, we had to go get them everyday. One day they said were out of towels and didnt know when any would be available so my son had to use a dirty towel. A hotel without towels?!!! This place is a disaster!!! They said just throw towels and trash in hallway since no one will enter the room. Phone was broken and they never fixed it or switched is rooms. Stayed 5 nights and never was asked how we were doing or if we needed anything, well maybe no phone was the problem. Pool closed. Trash was littered all over outside, some sort of red drink was spilled outside the stairway exit along with a large package of eggs broken. The hallway had a large AC box obstructing the walkway-theres a lawsuit waiting to happen. It was disgusting form the hallways littered to outside. Called corporate and they didnt seem too concerned. Their response clearly showed how they value or lack there of their customers. Marriott you have lost a loyal customer and I will never recommend you. Hello Hilton, who cares about their customers and has a guarantee.

    Last time for this place

    Dirty motel and dirty room. We were told that because we were only staying two nights that they would not tidy the room or make the bed that was fine, we could live with that. However, the room was shabby and the carpeting filthy. Mysterious poor patch in ceiling. We were told the room was to be renovated soon but if that is the case why was it being rented. It shouldnt have been in use. Several outlets in the room didnt work. The wall light on one side of the bed was fine and a piece of tape was put over the hole. Upholstery on sofa visibly dirty. Furniture scratched. Elevator was dirty and reeked of weed smell every time we used it?!?! Staff was nice but this place was definitely not worth it. Marriott should be ashamed.

    Disappointing accommodations

    I stayed at this location about two years ago, and was impressed with every aspect. In August, 2020, things were completely different. There was an unusual odor in my room and the third floor hallway. The air smelled musty and stale, so I was distrustful of the ventilation system. The toilet in my room had obviously not been cleaned. The two drinking glasses that were provided were not wrapped, so I didn't know if they were clean. The coffee bar lacked sugar or cream on most days. The free breakfast (consisting of individually wrapped muffins) were tasteless. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

    Excellent Customer Service

    I was in town for my fathers funeral and stayed for two nights. Tammy was extremely friendly, polite and she made check in so quick and pleasant. When I arrived to my room, the TV had no connection and was offline. Tammy was very apologetic and immediately offered to switch my room. When I arrived at the second room the heat/ AC unit wasnt working. This time I got a nice gentleman on the phone who again offered to switch my room. I moved a third time after he went to the room and made sure everything was in working condition. The hotel itself and the rooms were spotless and extremely clean. The front desk staff and the housekeeping supervisor that I encountered were very friendly and professional. Although this place needs a little work as far as the rooms being in full rentable conditions, I would give them another chance because the front desk staff did everything in their power to rectify the the situation and make me feel comfortable.
