  Great place, just what you expect from Marriot

  Upon arrival the front desk clerk asked if I had a reservation and I said yes and within a minute I had my room key and he explained about the Bistro The room was great as usual and the staff at the Bistro were great and friendly' One more great thing is they do not allow dogs. What a nice surprise. I have to hand it to Marriott for having a no dog policy. I am tired of places that allow dogs in the rooms and all over thr properties

  Great Stay

  We stayed here one night. Staff was nice. Prices was excellent for the room I got. Roomy enough for my wife and toddler. We had space enough to out crib for toddler. Room was super clean. Decent location. It was good for a one night stay on road trip.

  Old Everything

  We are Marriot rewards participants. Very disappointed and disgusted with the accomadations in this hotel. Was enroute to my mothers funeral services and to have these kind of accomadations was disheartening. This room desperately needs updating,floor to ceiling. I stripped bed to find very old mattress that was worn in center and had dirt particles in the stitching. Pillows and zip protectors dirty and stained, not changed. Bathtub enamel had 4 chipped areas around edges. Under rim of toilet dirty and stained. Hair/dirt in corners of bathroom floor. Dirty hairdryer stored in a filthy storage bag. No disposable drinkware in the bathroom. Could not trust that the glassware was sanitized. This room appeared to be used for transients instead of people with reservations and loyal customers. Hypocritical enforcement of mask wearing by hotel staff to customers while some staff and others did not utilize them. Will never use this hotel again nor reccomend it to family, friends acquaintances and business associates. It's clear management needs replacement.

  Very nice and clean

  After getting my money back from our first choice of hotels we came to the Courtyard. Our first choice was rated higher than the Courtyard but it certainly did not deserve to be!! The La Quinta was in poor repair and not clean. Spend the extra $ and stay at the Courtyard. Everything I saw was clean and well maintained. Mr. Rodney at the front desk was great. Our room was very nice, clean, quality bedding, nice modern furnishings and quiet. They have an in-house Starbucks which was great for a grab and go coffee and breakfast. Maybe the La Quinta was rated higher because they allow pets.

  Mixed experience

  I had a very mixed experience at the Courtyard Vicksburg 1) Location is easy to access for those driving, but the signage could be better. You basically drive through the parking lots of competing hotels to get to the Courtyard. The Courtyard sign is small and not easily seen from the highway. 2) Zero Marriott elite status recognition. No suite upgrade despite suites showing as available. 3) On a Friday night the bar and bistro were closed. ON A FRIDAY NIGHT. There were a good 15 people eating pizza and drinking their own drinks in the lobby because the bistro was closed. There are no other nice restaurants nearby. The closest nice restaurant was busy and couldn't accept anyone without a reservation. No reservations were available. Likewise, on a Saturday the bistro didn't open for coffee until 7 am which is late for a hotel. They were out of most of the breakfast options. All they had was a pre-made breakfast sandwich. The kind you could get at a gas station. 4) My room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was well-stocked with towels and toiletries, including some that aren't Courtyard brand standard. There was also a coffeemaker and refrigerator. 5) The TV was small AND 13 YEARS OLD. While the picture quality was good, the size was way too small by 2021 standards. You also couldn't easily see the TV from the bed thanks to the poor room configuration. In the year 2021, most Courtyard properties have 50 or 55 inch TVs. 6) My Marriott preferences like extra towels and feather pillows were not fulfilled. 7) Lobby had complimentary copies of the local newspaper, which was nice. 8) Notwithstanding, staff were friendly and professional. There aren't many hotel options in Vicksburg, but I feel like a more attentive owner or manager and some updates to guest rooms (like new TVs) would go a long ways. It's also pathetic that on a Friday night you can't get a drink at the hotel or dinner. They lost a lot of revenue that night.
