    WORK/MINI VACATION

My husband was on a business trip and I went along for some R&R. Our stay at Courtyard Marriott Briarcliff was very comfortable. The room was spacious with an amazing view at the Briarcliff Village up on the hill which was lit up at night time. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The Bistro had the most amazing egg buritto for breakfast and the very best Oatmeal I've ever had. The lounge was attached to the Bistro which was very cozy and TV's in every corner. We walked to the Briarcliff Village and found some amazing stores and the food market had samples of cheese, wine and thanksgiving food, what a surprise that was. The area around the hotel was very quiet and if you're flying, not far from the airport. We would definitely stay there again. A must see though is Harrah's Hotel and Casino and the famous chef Gordon Ramsey restaurant, very expensive.

    Solid stay

This appears to be a relatively new hotel in a very nice area only about 15 minutes from the KC airport. It has everything youd expect in a Courtyard and everything you need in a hotel. This isnt luxury, but a solid business stay. Consistency, clean rooms and friendly service. And a fitness center and pool to boot. The hotel is located up on a hill and my room offered a stunning view of the city. Worked for me!

Great staff, clean rooms but serious HVAC noise issues

I checked in for a 2-night stay on a business trip and was impressed with the professionalism and courtesy of the staff. I wanted to rest before an evening presentation I was giving but there was a howling noise in the room. I checked to see if the window was closed. It was. I realized that it was a windy day and the noise was coming through the in-wall HVAC unit. On my way out to work I asked at the front desk if someone could look into it. The woman acknowledged there was a real design flaw in the units (she had clearly had this complaint before) but would have maintenance see what they could do. I got back and was told there was nothing they could do -- it would be an issue with all the rooms that faced the front of the hotel. Fortunately the hotel was not heavily booked and they found me a room in the rear. It was totally silent which was a relief. I only wish I had been put there earlier so I didn't have to move my belongings late at night after returning tired from work. If you are staying at this hotel and the forecast calls for a windy day or two, make sure it's quiet before you get settled in!

Rude and Uncourteous Front Desk Clerk

We recently stayed for 3 nights in Briarcliff. Upon walking in, the front desk clerk greeted me with your basic greeting and then asked if I had a mask. I proceeded to tell her that I can't wear one. From that point on, any time I approached or attempted to talk to her about something, she was EXTREMELY rude by not making eye contact, talking directly to me, or even answering my question/creating basic conversation. Not ONCE was I thanked for staying at this hotel, even when checking out which I did in person. She said absolutely NOTHING to me. I observed this woman talking freely and politely to others but never once to me. For the money that was spent, it was UNACCEPTABLE. I have had this happen at other places as it has become common for others to attempt to "shame" the non mask wearer. I will NEVER stay at a Marriott again and will encourage my family and friends to do the same. The lady in housekeeping and another gentleman working there were very polite and helpful. Nothing like the front desk. You will continue to lose business based on how you treat people. Those that love to travel and spend their hard earned money will NOT be spending it there. Also, the walls in 216 were so poorly insulated that we could hear water running through the pipes every time it was used. We have video of how loud it was as well. It sounded like it was right in the room with us. For the price of rooms, this was unacceptable as well.

Nice views and a great stay.

This was a really nice stay. The room was set up very nicely for us to have the bed and our 6 year old slept on the sofa bed. There was a huge shower which was really nice. We also indulged in the Starbucks in the lobby. The pool was heated and it is a salt water pool so it was amazing! The hot tub was down for maintenance, so that was a little bummer. The views of the city from the pool were amazing! Tge downside was the parking lot was pretty small so on Saturday night the only parking available was the very edge of the lot with about 5 spots left. However, we really loved this location and the stay.
