Great staffFor the most part the staff was second to none. the front desk staff were all friendly and quick. We were greated and they thank us for being members. Rooms were good and clean. The patio has to be one of the best one we seen in Erie. Very private and lots of sitting room. They had a private party for some conference they had at the hotel. They did not ask us to leave the patio and even asked us to join them for snacks and cocktail. The only issue I had was with the fact that unlike other Marriott they did not have free breakfast not even free coffee. we did receive a $10 voucher for the Bistro in the lobby. I went in the morning and asked for 2 coffee. The guy took my voucher gave me two coffee never even said hi or anything took my voucher and went back in the kitchen. I did not find out that the coffee was $5 and I could have had a muffin or a cookie (only one they were 3.75) Coffee wasn't that great. So for the same price I usually pay at the other Marriott we usually stay at, we had to go out every morning and have breakfast ($20) more per day.

family tripHad a great trip to Erie spent at the Marriott Courtyard. Even though this hotel is more business like had a nice swimming pool with mushrooming water fall for the children. Rooms are very updated clean and some with beautiful balcony views. We usually stay here every year.

Older hotel that needs improvementI am a Titanium Rewards member but you cannot not leave an unsolicited review on the Marriott site. I stayed at this hotel for business. The rooms were a bit older but I have a couple of issues. 1st, the air conditioner did not work. I could not get the cool air to run but was able to get the fan to run. That helped to circulate the air so it was ok to sleep. If it was a warmer night, I would have changed rooms. Marriott is moving away from individual toiletries such as shampoo and conditioner and is installing larger jars of the products in the shower. I do not believe there is a housekeeping checklist that asks to check if the jars are empty as it is very common to find out in the shower that there is no shampoo or in my case today, conditioner. This happens way too often. The positive is that the staff at the front desk was very nice and welcoming. That counts for something.

Overall, just okayIf the rest of this hotel looked like the room that we were in, then this would have been a 5 star rating. The carpeting in the hallways was stained and dirty and made the place look bad. Lights were out in several areas of the building, which would make for a safety issue, I would think. The room was very nice looking and the view of the setting sun over Lake Erie was spectacular. The bed was a little too hard for me. Overall, it was just okay. It could have been so much better if they had kept up the cleanliness of the floors.

lackluster experience at bestWhere to start? We have only been here for 12 hours and I already have quite the list of issues. First to begin, I will give you positives of the hotel. 1- Very conveniently located- right off route 90. 2- Rooms are nice size and beds are comfortable enough 3- Common areas are well appointed and decorated 4- Starbucks right in lobby with good food and coffee (pricey though) Issues: All of these little things by themselves wouldn't be a huge deal, but all together made for an unenjoyable stay. 1- The pool, sauna and hot tub were all under construction and this wasn't mentioned when we booked 2- We went to three different floors to find ice, but all were "broken." 3- I had a virtual work meeting in the morning and the internet was very slow and I was not able to successfully run a very important meeting. 4- I went to the gym and there were no towels, water, cups, disinfectant spray or hand sanitizer. ( I lucked out and grabbed the last towel) I picked up the phone in the gym to call the front desk and it was broken. I walked to the front desk to ask for these things and went back to the gym. 15 minutes later no-one came so I walked back outside and asked a cleaning person for some wipes and water- they said they were "looking for them." NOT VERY ENCOURAGING DURING COVID! 5- I walked back to the elevator to go back up my room on level 5. The elevator stops on level 2 and a maintenence man gets in- I nicely tell him that I am trying not to share small spaces with anyone during Covid- he just laughs and tells me there are stairs down the hall. So, I get out and walk up the stairs. SERIOUSLY?! 6- Lastly, we were woken up by a super loud automated call on the hotel phone at 6:30 in the morning telling us what time to come eat breakfast. This was the first day my husband didn't have to get up early for work and we didn't even get to sleep in.
