  sheets were dirty, slept in

  We arrived late in the afternoon. There are no baggage carts, just a grocery store type buggy cart - which is weird and isn't really helpful, and there was only one. The temperature was set at 74 and also we turned it down, the temp never lowered until 3:00 AM - so sleeping was miserable. Of course, sleeping was miserable anyway because when I pulled the bedspread back at 11:00 PM to retire, I found the bed had been made after someone had slept in it. There was dirt at the foot of the sheet and hair in the middle of the bed that is definitely not my color. The pillow also looked like it had been slept on. I slept on top of the top sheet and didn't use the pillow. The hotel itself is easy to get in and out of, and is right off the freeway. I was there for a meeting, but probably won't ever go back.. And, while I'm on the negative - why can't you just get a regular meal anymore - everything is "bistro", which translates into weird and expensive. How about a steak- just a normal steak, and regular bacon and eggs, and normal pancakes. Just regular, normal people food that everyone can identify and enjoy.

  service issues

  I stay here periodically, bad experience this week. Hotel has some new process where you can skip maid service and earn extra points. they have lost control of system, my room was dirty when I checked in, some sort of heavy staple was coming out of carpet, room was not cleaned when I returned after work and no shampoo or coffee supplies. On top of this gym was closed. Another issue is no free continental breakfast. Slim pickings in Midlothian, but I will try elsewhere.

  Expected better upkeep, cleanliness at a Courtyard property

  Usually I prefer Courtyard properties, however this one was disappointing. When I opened the door to the cubby where the refrigerator was, the door was only attached by one hinge out of 3. There was dust on the lamp, and the bathroom sink had very poor drainage- see photos. And there was supposed to be (due to COVID) intense cleaning and disinfecting??? My co-worker stated she also had dust on the same lamp in her room. Hotel personnel were nice and professional, but the property definitely needed maintenance issues addressed and the rooms inspected by the housekeeping supervisor.

  Rude customer service

  So, I asked to have the sheets changed and fresh towels be put in the room because I had been rooming with a friend for a couple of days until our husbands got here today. The representative told me they would let housekeeping know. We were gone from 7:50am until 3:30pm. When we got back nothing had been done, and my husband was handed sheets to change the bed himself and a stack of towels. When I called the front desk to let them know I was not happy with this service, the man on the phone was very rude. No apology. Wow. Covid or not, if I pay for a hotel room, I expect clean sheets and curteous behavior from the staff. Marriott, you have some training to do, and by the way, hallways full of trashbags and dirty towels I find disgraceful. I understand this comes from the top. You can do better than that!

  Marriott???

  Expected better being that its a Marriott hotel. General manager was rude, very unprofessional. Staff was somewhat nice also had an attitude. Presentation is everything. I shouldnt have walked into this room and it be sloppy. Covid isnt an excuse. Marriott Mansfield was perfect!!!!
