    Exemplary Service!!

    First of all, the service at this hotel might be the best of any Ive stayed at. Marriott corporate should be very proud of the team here. Every staff member I encountered was happy, friendly, helpful, etc. We were warmly greeted upon arrival. When I was using the exercise room, the front desk lady brought me a bottle of water unsolicited. Our tv was not working and when I called the front desk they told me they would send maintenance up. About 2 minutes later, he was at the door and was another professional and friendly employee. When we checked out, there were 3 employees who all smiled and wished us well. I notified them that the tv was still having some issues and that the fridge was also not cooling properly. They were very apologetic and even though I did not want or expect reparations for the food we had to throw out, they insisted on giving us a $20 credit. Before I was even out of the parking lot heading home, I already had an email confirming the credit. The accommodations are very nice. There are some tell tale signs that this is an old building, however, they have done a really good job at updating it both inside and out. The decor is nice and modern. The hotel is clean. The beds and pillows are comfortable. Each room has a mini fridge and microwave. There are blackout curtains. I liked that the sink area was separate from the shower/ toilet area. Toiletries provided were Paul Mitchell. Decent water pressure. Lots of outlets and ports throughout the room. The reasons I did not give 5 stars......the walls are very thin. We could hear every step the people in the room above us took and anything going on in the hallways. Sleep was unaffected because we travel with a white sound machine and ear plugs. The shower/toilet area seemed a bit outdated with older tile and tub. The biggest negative was the heating and cooling system. There is no thermostat since it is one of those big units that are so old Im not even sure what they are called. It was difficult to get the room temp comfortable. If we turned off the heat or turned on the air conditioning, the room was way too cold. When the heat was on, it was so hot we had to open the window. I would stay here again for sure. Hopefully, they will update the air systems because it would be easy to rate 5 stars, if so. While their refurbishment really modernized the hotel aesthetically, they did skip some of the bones/big ticket items that wouldve easily made this place just about perfect.

    NOT MARRIOTT COMPLIANT with Core Values!!! (02-20-2020)

    First; let me start off by saying that I am a proud Platinum Marriott Rewards Member. With that said; I am just going to chalk this up as a negative experience, and warn others not to stay at this particular location. So; I stayed at this location on federal government travel orders on 02-20-2020. I booked this location through the online federal government booking system which showed that this hotel was compliant with both FEDROOMS; as well as, the other regulations reflecting government employees. When I arrived; I explained to the front desk that I was a government employee on travel orders, I presented a tax exempt certificate, my government ID and my government issued travel credit card. The front desk said; that she would pass it on to someone in management. I didn't think anything about it, but upon checkout, I was advised that this particular Marriott location would not honor the federal government's tax exempt status. When I asked why I would not be allowed to utilize tax exempt; I was given an answer that somewhat resembled this: "From what I understand; your credit card is not the right kind of account, and/or is not compliant. In order to qualify under Marriott regulations, it has to start with a certain type of corporate code on the credit card." I made every attempt to sort out this matter with both the hotel management; as well as, Marriott customer service; however, neither was interested in any type of mitigation. End result; I disputed the hotel charges through the credit card merchant (U.S. Bank), and they reversed all of the charges. I wished that it had not come down to that, but I suppose Marriott underestimated the power of the U.S. government regarding those who do not follow the law. I pulled this from the Core Values of the Marriott website: "We hold ourselves to uncompromising ethical and legal standards." Lastly; the hotel TVs are old and need to be changed. Also; the breakfast bar is pay only, and it sucks. REMEMBER; you need your customers more than they need you.

    What a waste

    I HATE IT HERE...the only reason why I am giving this hotel 1 star is because the employees are super sweet. Check in was a breeze and upon entering the room I thought that i would have a pleasant weekend. The bed and chair is comfy but the smell of the room is horrible. It literally smells like mildew and I kept spraying febreeze. The bathrooms are a little less to be desired. I had to lift the handle up for the toilet to stop flushing and I killed a spider, it was huge. There are also these little red bugs running all over the place. The shower is horrible(dirty handles and needs a real deep cleaning)and there was no hot water upon arrival. This hotel is low low budget and should not cost as much as it does. I feel robbed and deceived. How is the outside updated and the inside is pure trash. I will never ever ever stay at this hotel again. As a Marriott member, I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. This was the biggest disappointment ever

    Nice room but Bistro Closed!

    Weve stayed here many times over the years and was very disappointed to Learn this time that the bistro was closed due to low covid capacity and they werent even offering coffee in the morning! This was NOT called out on the site when making the reservation!

    I have no intention of ever returning to this bed bug infested place again. Item was stolen from my room.

    Stayed at the Courtyard while visiting relatives, that lived close by. Upon leaving said hotel, I noticed that I had red bite marks on my stomach and back from bed bugs. I also noticed, that a 10 oz. flask of Black Velvet Whiskey was stolen from the room. We were also billed for beverages that we did not purchase. When we arrived back home, I called the hotel, they said to call back the next day. I called back the next day, was told that the manager was not available. They said beverage charge would be removed from my bill, but denied of course, that anyone could have taken my container of whiskey, and that someone was in that room the night before, and didn't complain about bed bugs. Was told the manager would call be back. That was 3 days ago, and the manager has not called me. Needless to say, I will never return to this place again. I would advise you to do the same.
