    Nuevo

    Cedar City Stop In

Had a 2 night stop at the Marriott. Parking and check-in were easy and welcome after a long day of driving. Our room had a king size bed and a rounded couch which was comfortable to sit on to watch the large screen television. The bathroom is very spacious and the set up of the large shower is different but interesting and a good set-up to be able to reach the towels, shampoo and soap. It helps to be sure you are either in the shower enclosure with the glass door closed when you turn on the water on or make sure it is not on full blast when you open the door to get in. There is also a nice patio where you can bring your own food or wine and enjoy the outdoors and the fire pit which is turned on when it gets a little darker. The location is amenable to reaching the downtown area restaurants however there are several restaurants nearby as well. I am not sure why the coffee makers have been removed or disconnected since almost all of the other hotels we stayed in over our 3 week journey had coffee makers. I agree with another reviewer who mentioned the entry doors close very loudly and wish the door handle could be turned from the hallway side to allow the door to close more quietly. Doubt there is anything that can be done about it but it can be annoying early in the morning. Overall we would stay in this Marriott again should we find ourselves back in Cedar City.

    Stayed here for local parks

This was our first hotel stay since February 2020. Last year we stayed over 75 nights in different Marriott brands. We drove a very long day and got takeout dinner nearby before checking in. We chose this hotel because we stay at Marriotts almost exclusively and it was near the National Parks. We visited Bryce Canyon National Park, Cedars Breaks National Monument and Great Basin National Park before traveling to Moab and seeing two additional parks. The exit from the freeway is very funky to say the least ; you drive on the left side of the road going underneath the freeway. The entrance to the hotel is difficult to find, especially in the dark. There is no lighted sign on the road and once I figured out how to get into the property used the neighboring hotel sign as a marker of where to enter the parking lot. The check-in the process was quick and easy. The employee wore a mask. I only had to show my ID through the plexiglass and since my Marriott card was on file I did not have to handover my credit card which was nice as well. Once we got to the room I inspected the room like never before because of the current circumstances. Although the room appeared to be fairly clean I did find two black hairs. One was in the sink and the other one was in the shower. Before we unpacked, we did our own sanitizing of all high touch areas. There were also finger marks all around the doorhandles. The king bed was OK but seemed small and the bed mattress seemed to sag toward the middle. The room had a small fridge and a microwave which we used instead of going to the bistro. The bistro was closed for most of our stay either because the employee was out sick or it was just closed on the days we were there. On two different occasions I woke up because of the noise in the hotel. One night at 3 AM for about a half an hour it seems like there was a ridiculous amount of stomping on the floor above us and on a second night the same type of noise started about 11 PM. I called the front desk and told them of the noise and they sent somebody upstairs to see what was happening. The shower on several occasions went from warm to scalding hot instantly without even time or space to move out of the way. I would normally stay on the top floor but asked for 1st floor to avoid the elevator. Finding food was a big hassle as few people believe in masks in Utah and that left our only option to takeout or drive through which is not the way we were hoping to eat. I would probably stay here again when it was not such a hassle to travel and we did enjoy our out in nature days.

    Fantastic Outdoor Hot Tub

This is a great place to stay to explore the surrounding area and not far from Bryce and Zion. The accommodations are excellent and they are very Covid compliant. My favorite aspect of the hotel is the outdoor hot tub. It was snowing up quite a storm but we just sat there enjoying the awe of it all and relaxing after a day of hiking. Very beautiful. Also close proximity to numerous dining options and shopping.

    Nice property

The lobby was clean and welcoming The rooms were clean and large for a small property. . Very comfortable bed and nice linens. Very easy check-in. Very poor lighting in the parking lot. Convenient and easy to find location.
