  This is a wonderful place to stay. High quality, very comfortable, clean and all the staff are exceptional in friendliness and helpfulness. Nothing is too much trouble. They go way beyond what is expected. Very conveniently located near to the town of Birr.

  An incredible oasis in the centre of Ireland

  6 of us stayed in the County Arms Hotel, Birr on the 2nd and 3rd October 2020 and it was wonderful. This is a family run hotel-by the Loughnane Family-and it is shown wonderfully. On arrival, we met a pedal operated hand sanitizer andthe check in was wonderfully smooth. Our room was comfortable, clean and lovely decorated with eye catching paintings on the walls. Our first night was spent dining in the bar where there was ample distancing, excellent food and the world's best Toasted sandwich, that I have ever tasted. Our second night was spent dining in the drawing room and I had the most appetising main course of turkey and ham. Our 2 breakfasts were excellent, with table service for every delightful item on the menu. The real highlight of our visit to this wonderful hotel are the Loughnane Family and their exceptional staff. I would sincerely like to thank Willie, Barry and Conor Loughnane, Gráinne (Reservations and Events Manager), Judy, Tanya, Michelle and one other (Receptionists), Jason (Executive Head Chef), Alan (Accommodation Manager), Larry and Chloe(Bar), Sasha, Seamie, Jane, Róisín and Antonio (Dining room) for a wonderful weekend, in a very difficult time, due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Besides the amazing hospitality, I felt very safe due to their safety precautions and how the guests adhered to face coverings, as they walked in the public areas of the hotel. There's a lovely garden too and how different types of bird fed themselves on the fallen apples, was a joy to watch on how nature is catered for too. There is a rooftop area too with tables over looking the kaleidoscope of colours in the garden. Mile Buíochas Willie agus Muintir Loughnane agus Foireann Óstán County Arms.

  Shocking that youre room gets canceled 2 nights before your stay due to a private wedding first of all we should have been told the wedding was on when we rang to book and even if the wedding was a last minute thing there is only so many aloud to attend the wedding so Im sure there was enough room for 2 more guests it was handled poorly

  Superb Hotel, impeccable.

  Absolutely stunning Hotel, character in abundance, the staff are simply perfect and the food is out of this World! Would recommend to anybody for holiday break, Wedding. Be sure to check out the lovely walled garden.

  2 Night Stay and Wedding - Excellent

  We were at the County Arms Hotel for the wedding of our daughter and son in law. A group of about 18 stayed for 2 nights while the remainder of wedding group, about 25 in total stayed the night of the wedding. We had 38 to the reception and we were all very well catered for and looked after by the staff and owners of the County Arm Hotel. The safety measure put in place by the hotel were top notch for both guests and staff and we appreciate all their efforts in this regard. As for the rooms, everyone was incredibly positive about their rooms and comfort. The only note was that the plumbing on our room could have been better, toilet flush was weak and shower pressure was also weak. The staff were fantastic, helpful in every way possible. The food was first class with every meal we had, breakfast, lunch, and evening meals. As for the reception and the food arrangements, these too were first class. The table staff were attentive to all our needs. Even one of the owners, who was serving tables, opened the ketchup for my 7-year-old nephew, so he did not spill any on his suit. All the wedding guests were impressed by the calibre of staff at the County Arms. The portions for every meal and every course were perfect, everyone had sufficient food on their plate. Many made the point that portion sizes were very generous. My wife and I were very please with the service and value provided by the Country Arm Hotel, and would whole heartedly recommend the hotel, its facilities, and staff to all no matter what the occasion. We would also like to give a special shout out to Michelle who worked tirelessly over the weeks and months prior to the wedding, keeping us informed of Government COVID changes that affected the wedding plans. Michell and her staff were amazing. Thank you to all concerned, you made our daughters wedding day special, despite this time of pandemic.
