  The best hosts!

  My partner and I were stranded after our car broke down just outside of Otaki and David and Suzie came to our rescue! They found space for us even though they were fully booked and helped us with our car the next day! Can not say enough about how kind and helpful they both were and what a lovely stay we had at their motel. Would definitely recommend a stay if in the area. Kiwis truly are some of the nicest, most courteous people on earth and David and Suzie are true examples of this.

  Its NOT always about the Accommodation!!!

  My hubby and I stayed for 3 nights here, on arriving at 1035 at after a 7 hour drive, we learnt that we were actually booked for the next weekend. We had driven down to meet up with very close friends of ours that had come from Australia. I couldnt believe it, our booking had the wrong dates from Booking.com. Nevertheless they accomodated us, Saturday they were completely booked out and still they kept us in the Igloo we started with instead of being as I had been informed might need to happen. Our room was a budget room which is what I booked. I wasnt overly impressed when seeing it or getting inside it, as it felt cold and smelled damp. However we had a heater in our room, electric blankets on the beds, it was clean and tidy and it served our needs. As stated above its not always about the accommodation the service definitely sold me. I would return to this lovely place 5 mins walk to town and a 5 min drive to the beach. However next time Im booking a cottage

  Friendly and helpful stay

  After being let down by the A'Abode Motel in Palmerston North who cancelled our booking without consulting us. 100% occupancy in Palmerston and no rooms anywhere in town we headed for Otaki as the closest opportunity and were rewarded by a friendly and welcoming late night check in at the Cottage Park Motel. Helpful, considerate to our situation and accommodating. We were very grateful.

  Highly recommend this motel

  After a long day on the road and our hotel in Palmerston North cancelling our booking, we arrived at 11PM to a great beds in a warm family unit with all the lights on. Restful night with options for tea, coffee and hot chocolate. John was very kind and accommodating. Would highly recommend Cottage Park Motel.

  Exceptional

  My partner and I traveled up to Otaki from Wellington to attend a friends 40th and booked a night to stay at the cottage park so that we could both drink. Stayed in one of the cottage chalets, number 9. Must say it was a bit daunting when looking for accommodation in Otaki as all seemed to look rather grim. From memory it was about $140 something for the night with other places charging around the $99 mark. Very much worth the extra $40 odd though. I could really not fault my stay. The standard of cleanliness in the room was way above expectations and was immaculate. Would definitely recommend the chalets as they are just gorgeous and cozy plus you are able to park right out front of the room which I always like. Just the general overall vibe of the place was great. What really blew me away though was the friendliness and customer service standard from the owner. The thought to put our heat pump on prior to us arriving that cold evening was great and given that taxis are limited in Otaki the owner offer us a lift to our house party and provided us with shuttle information to get home. That willingness to go above and beyond for your guests is always appreciated and I would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in Otaki.
