  close to town

  this hotel was very close to the city center, no view,, the room was clean, service was good, staff were welcoming, bathroom was clean, very basic room, nothing special, we only stayed one night, it was noisy from the traffic outside, but thats because its next to city center, no soundproofing, breakfast was good, it was a good stay overall.. if u staying for one nigt id recommend this hotel..

  Don't think ever to stay here

  even the room we book is "Super Deluxe Double Room", but the real is super small dirty room, and it is not privet at all, because the door of the room was short!! the slot was around 6 inch!! and the cold air is freezing the room, and they don't provide heater when we ask them, the sound of air when hit the door is scaring at night. don't ever think to stay here!!

  Great place to stay near the city center

  I stayed here for 1 night with my boyfriend and we had a pleasant stay. Its location is really good. It is just a 5-min walk to the city center of Nuwara Eliya and within walking distance to Gregory Lake and Pedros tea plantation. The room was great and the bed was comfy. Sana who is a member of the staff who attended us was very nice and gave us good recommendations whenever we asked him. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel.

  Brand new hotel with great rooms

  I had a great stay in this hotel. It is brand new and nicely decorated. I loved the balconies and the common rooms which have sofas, tables and chairs to sit down and relax. The staff were very nice and helpful at all times. The location couldnt be better - its right behind the bus station in the city center - and the room was clean and spacious. Many thanks to the staff for the good care they took for me!

  Cottage 02 out of 42: That`s your score!

  Well, as my title suggests there were only 02 positive factors during our entire stay at this miserable, little place. This place just avoids the 'Terrible' rating due to these 02 factors! First, the good news. (1) The gentleman (who was a 5 in 1 receptionist, porter, cook, housekeeper, janitor) was extremely helpful and did an amazing job at multitasking and took the extra trouble to accommodate our vegetarian requests. (2) The location is a convenient short walk to the town centre. Apart from those... There`s PLENTY of NEGATIVES. (1) Our room was appalling. Tiny, cramped and smelled of a light, wet mustiness. (2) We froze after 6 pm until the next morning. No heating. Forget heating, the room was not even reinforced sufficiently to hold off the cold. (3) The hot water was scalding and cannot be adjusted to satisfaction. (4) The food was average even though the above-mentioned gent did his best. (5) The lady in-charge of bookings was not friendly and accommodating, especially when we needed directions. However, she was quite nice earlier, that is until we paid the deposit. (6) We requested 'a room with a view' from the aforementioned lady and she confirmed twice that it will be provided. The only 'view' that she provided was a scene that comprised of a few straggly conifers, patches of carrot and dogs taking dumps at the nearby plot of desolate land. (7) There was no figure of managerial authority that we could express our grievances or even simply speak to. I can go on pointing out more deficiencies right up to 42 but since I have more pressing matters to attend to, I will stop at 07, which divides 42 perfectly. Multiply it by 06 and you get all that is wrong with Cottage 42! Value for money = 00. Dear Management, are we disappointed? Absolutely.
