  I've just come back from Capo Vaticano - Hotel Villagio Costa Degli Dei. This Resort is good and safe place for family holiday (children 5, 8 and 10yo). The pool is good and safe for children, shuttle bus to the beach inclusive all day. Restaurant is quite big and food good for adults and children - mostly italian type. A staff in area is nice and helpful. The garden and appartments are clean and still careful looked. In my opinion "all inclusive" option is rather poor and quite expensive - it's better to take HB option. This aspect should be corrected... I hope to come back this resort next year.

  NOT SUITABLE FOR BRITISH TOURISTS

  This property is similar to Butlins but 10 times the price.It caters solely for Italian holiday makers as the animation is only in italian. The animation continues until 1am and when it has finished, the audience return to their rooms very noisily and continue to party on their balconeis with no consideration for anyone else. This was brought to the attention of the reception team who were unable to do anything about it. You must choose your following day's meals 24 hours in advance, therefore you must know today what you will want to eat tomorrow. The choice is extremely limited (a choice of 2 meals of which one was always fish, therefore if you don't eat fish, you have no choice). Breakfast is the same every day and is very basic with poor quality cheese and ham (only one tyoe of each), croissants and rolls. This hotel is advertised as a 4* hotel, but there are signs within the hotel which indicate 3* which is more like it. The beach is a mile away and there is a small 7 seater bus to take everyone there and back. The Italian holidaymakers do not understand the queueing concept and even when they have checked out at 10am (this is far too early a check out considering you are not allowed to check in until 5pm and the daily rate to stay at this hotel is so extortionate), they use the facilities that whole day and night, limiting use for people who have actually paid to be there. Having visited Italy many times and stayed at many different hotels, all of which I would be happy to return to, I will definitely never return to this hotel and most definitely do not recommend it.

  Great holiday

  Positive things: beautiful sea, private beach, big swimming pool with deckchairs, apartments and a low hotel set in a garden, playground, two restaurants, great service from all the staff, daily cleaning, good food, 1km away train station, 0,5 km away small supermarket Negative: dinners quite late 8-9p.m., breakfast was the same every day and mostly sweet pastries, cakes...only one kind of ham, cheese and eggs Loud evening programme lasting till 11.30 p.m. Outside the hotel gate towards the village centre there was a lot of rubbish, but inside the hotel garden everything was clean All in all, we were there with kids and enjoyed the holiday very much. The best trip was to Tropea by train.

  Just for Italian !

  We were there almost one week because of overbooking this hotel could not receive us and we had to fight with our tour operator to get what we paid for. Nice place good looking good infrastructure great pool good restaurant Private beach with free shuttle every 30mn and sunbath chair for free BUT if you like animation music from 10:00AM TO 01:00PM everywhere pool restaurant and night in amphitheater family kids and noisy ambiance you are at the right place If you want relax and chilling Forget it .... We were All Inclusive but Italian version that means only during Lunch, from 16:00 to 18:00 at pool and diner but not after dîner and only for water soda Granito ( sort of lemon ice) that are in fact made of concentrate not real coke !! Worst ever wine I have ever drunk despite you are in Italy with great choice of good wines Ciro what was served is just awful. All incluse does not include just a simple beer you have to pay extra for that if you want it not in eating scheduled time And the top is that all inclusive is not for the beach that means all you drink at the private beach is extra payment This is like this in others hotel too !! Just a joke do not pay extra for all inclusive when you book Rooms are on a good standard and animation for kids fitness studio on roof top and massage ok. Tennis court 15 1hour A lot of family with small child and noisy ambiance in an Italian way of living!!! Top view on Stromboli volcano

  Good hotel with a nice beach

  I have spent one week at this hotel. The room was of a good size and well maintained. The food was good and the prices for drinks reasonable. There was a group of young animators, who took care of entertaining children and adults who like that type of entertainment. Not my piece of cake. The hotel has a shuttle bus that takes you to a nice semi private beach. There is also a bar/pizzeria at the beach with friendly service. In general I have enjoyed my stay at this hotel and I could recommend it for people who do not mind to be in a place where young entertainers are just doing their job.
