Good price but dirtyHotel is in a decent area but hotel was dirty. Found lots of dust and dirt around our beds and bathroom was in need of a good cleaning. Elevator takes awhile to go up and down so if you are checking in at a busy time prepare to wait.

Poor and Terrible food & service !!!We stayed 3 night at the hotel. Food was terrible and we waited for 1 hr after placing the order. Room was full of mosquitoes and very dark. But the hotel location is very nice, we really enjoyed our evening time to near by market area. Everything was very close to the hotel.

Cosmopolitan Hotel has the best location in CairoIf you are pcky and always stay at the Sheraton or Hilton, you're not a Cosmopolitan Hotel fan. It all depends on what you enjoy in a city. I think no other hotel in Cairo has such a superb location, if you enjoy walking, if you enjoy shopping, if you enjoy night life in Cairo, shopping, busy streets where Cairo people walk. All of the American or European hotels (Hilton, etc) are NOT LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ACTION. So if you are scared of walking the streets, if you only leave your hotel to ride your limo to the Pyramids, do not stay at the Cosmopolitan. It is all about location, and all about enjoying a vibrant lifestyle of Cairo people. I LOVED IT.....I also stayed at the Hilton in Cairo, and stayed at the Meridian in Cairo....The Hilton and Meridian are better hotels, no questions asked, BUT THEIR LOCATION SUCKS. They are removed from the area....they are safer if you are a scared westerner. I am a westerner but I enjoy being with the people from Cairo in their streets, so I prefer the Cosmopolitan. You can walk to the markets, to the shopping areas, and enjoy every minute.

OhVisited in a year or two ago, not many plus points to the hotel apart from its pretty central. It was in need of a very good clean when i went, dust and dirt everywhere. My bed was even nailed together very crudely as obviously it had broke at some stage! Nice

Great location at a reasonable priceI happen to think this is the quintessential Cairo hotel. By that I certainly don't mean the best however. But for the price it is good. And one is automatically back in the 1950's. The rooms can be a bit tawdry but an experienced (or well read) traveler to Egypt needs to expect that. Anyone can feel great about a 5 star stay. The Cosmopolitan is an adventure.
