  When we first arrived in Naples, we were shocked and dismayed about the location and the external appearance of the B & B. When I refer to B & B, La Cortese it is no hotel. There is no elevator to bring luggage upstairs, which made it very difficult to haul it up with us. This was day one of a 17 day Italian vacation. The room was on the 2nd floor and I was ready to cancel and go elsewhere., Unfortunately, we were tired from flying all night and just wanted to eat and sleep. I called the owner and he graciously appeared and let us select from a choice of two rooms. One had one balcony and the other had two. There is no false advertising; there was a balcony on our second floor room (only floor of the B & B of a four story building. The room was very modern. The B&B is operated by a brother and sister. The sister was a terrific hostess. The continental breakfast was fresh and she makes a wonderful cappuccino. The owners of the B&B are terrific and made us feel comfortable, even though the external appearance was poor. La Contese is not a. Hotel, but I guess it was a good B&B. The location was convenient to restuarants and the train.

  First Impressions not always as they seem!,,,

  We had a one night stay in this B&B prior to an early flight back to the UK. When we arrived at the B&B I was horrified by the exterior and entrance and thought what have I booked. However once inside the B&B you quite literally enter another world. Spotlessly clean and modern, our room had a small balcony, plenty of storage, usb charging points. The bathroom was well stocked with toiletries even toothbrushes and paste which is most unusual. Excellent selection for breakfast. Ilana is the perfect host, kept in contact prior to our stay to check if we needed anything and pre-booked a taxi for us to take us to the airport. Dont be fooled by the exterior. I would recommend this B&B for an overnight stay. Not sure you would want to stay any longer in Naples as we found it extremely dirty with rubbish and graffiti everywhere.
